Ahornlike, syropy aroma with caramel. Dark brown, small off white head. Full bodied, really sweet but well balanced. Flavours of ahorn caramel, brwad, vanilla. Sweet and a bit dry aftertaste.

I find brown ale’s to be either great or terrible. Sadly this is pretty terrible. Malt, caramel, biscuit, boring.

Rune (12814) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JAN 4, 2015
400ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Bestillingsutvalget. Clear dark brown coloured body under a remaining, low tan-coloured head. Faint lacing. Roasted brown malts, mid-dry and mid-sweet. Malt-driven taste of earth, nuts and caramel with a touch of dark fruits to the ending. Medium bodied. Well paired with the lamb pie. Good drinking (Tromsø 04.01.2015).

Foffern (1909) - Bodø, NORWAY - SEP 15, 2014
Bottle at home. Has a unclear deep reddish brown colour with a medium, creamy, khaki head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, leather, wild berries, dried fruit and forest floor. The flavour is more roasted with coffee, leather, dark wood and hops in the background. Nice ash-like aftertaste. Has a slick mouth feel, and a light to medium bitterness. A well-balanced, rich and pleasant brown ale.

Caramel, dried fruits, chocolate, nuts and roasted malts in the aroma. Dark brown with a off-white head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium body with a average carbonation. Overall a nice Brown Ale.

Litt tørr i avslutningen.
