Bottle. Rated February 6, 2016. Mørkt brown with off white head. Aroma of dark fruit, raisins, figs, dates, wood and vanilla. Sweet flavour of dark fruit with bourbon notes of wood and vanilla. Theydon_Bois (19546) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JUN 9, 2014
Bottle shared at Jacks a Kipper tasting, big thanks to Paul for the 2nd in the series of 4, 12/05/14.
Murky mahogany brown with little in the way of any head work.
Nose is toffee, spice, boozey strains, light oxidised twang, light bourbon Ba woody twangs, overall a little tired perhaps.
Taste comprises tangy dark fruits, spice, booze, brown sugars, toffee fudge.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a lightly oxidised rinse.
Ok bearing in mind its 7 years old but certainly coming over a little more tired than its 2008 base beer counterpart. jackl (8071) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 12, 2014
Bottle @ Jack the Sippers. Soupy deep red brown with a small head. Raisin bread, chocolate croissant. All bran cereal. Papery oxidisation. Taste is very sweet. Concentrated cherry juice and cardboard. Dark figs and plums. Cocoa, cherry meat. Moderately tart. Oily, soft carbonation. Leighton (21299) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2014
Bottle shared in London - many, many thanks to Paul for this one, pours lightly unclear brown-amber with a faint, fading tan head. The nose has rich, stewed apples, rich brown bread, plums, dates, toffee. Medium sweet flavor with burnt wood, brown sugar, lots of rich, sugary fruits, figs. Full bodied with fine, spritzy carbonation. Warm to hot finish with liquefied dark fruits, toffee, raisins, figs. Rich, decadent. A real sipper. I like it. 2007 Bottle thanks to me. It pours darkest brown with a tiny tan head. The taste is rich, fruit cake, vanilla, bourbon, slight oxidation, muffin, toffee, fudge and honeycomb. The taste is smooth, rich, fruit cake, raisin, sultana, toffee, vanilla, light alcohol, plummy, prune and wood with a sweetish finish. Fullish body and soft carbonation. Soft, sweet and pretty easy going. Oxidised, but not bad.

Woodshed 2.0. Huge thanks to stobbe74 for shipping me this over two years ago. Soeren!! The bottle pours out with a murky mahogany body supporting a thin tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up brown sugar covered cherries and prunes as well as a bit of booze at the end of the draw. The taste delivers nectar like oxidized sherry goodness as well as prunes moving into more and more booziness. To midway it begins to get into smooth sweet bourbon booze. Into the finish the bourbon and sweet dark fruity esters end the sip with a wonderful integrated dance of flavor harmony. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - APR 28, 2013
Ibrew2or3 shares at woodshed 2.0 Dark brown pour, little head. Some oxidation present, but works in the beer. Bourbon, vanilla, some dark fruit notes. Still a nice beer after 6 years. BOLTZ7555 (3027) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - APR 21, 2013
Bottle again shared by Ibrew2or3 @ Woodshed 2.0! This one held up a bit better than the Niepoort barrel. Get some caramel, toffee, sherry, honey, biscuit, cracker, and a hint of bourbon. Slight vanilla and wood. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 7, 2013
375ml bottle... Pours a dirty murky and deep caramel toffee hue and topped with a minimal bubbly ring around the edges of the glass... Aroma of musty old papery, somewhat oxidized, deeper dark fruit and toffee with a rich fruit cake presence. A little past its prime but ok... Flavors are an improvement with a deeper richer yet sweet caramel toffee and dark fruit, namely raisin and dates. Somewhat fuller bodied with a lighter level of carbonation. Flavor profile is solid although somewhat falling of. riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - MAR 10, 2013
