UPDATED: DEC 14, 2009 Dark brown with a very small bubbly beige head. Aroma is heavy malty, sweet with notes of caramell and raisins, vanilla and alcoholic barrel character. Flavour is fat and really sweet with prunes, dates, raisins, figs, caramell, vanilla, cognac/wood and a nice alcoholic burn as it goes down. Rather alcoholic but in a lovely mature way, it works perfectly. Body is big and viscous, a bit sticky with extremely low carbonation. Exellent slow sipper.

Bottle, bought @ Nørrebro Bryghus.
Light hazy dark amber with no real head. Aroma is sweet, very fruity, plums, raisins, vinious, sweetish. Low carbonation, impressive oily mouthfeel. Flavour is lovely sweet, oak, dry, light tart, doughy malts, chocolate, warming alcohol. Truly impressive, but still the lowest score.

375 ml bottle, kindly shared by my beer pal Olav, who bought it at Nørrebro Bryghus. Dark reddish brown colour, low head. Distinct aroma of oak and brandy, notes of raisins. The flavour is distinctly oaky, notes of brandy and rum-raisin. Good stuff!

Murky dark amber, opaque in the center with dark brown edges. A small off-white head that settles fast. Basically no lacings. A very intense smell with heavy malty aromas, leather, toffee and abundant boozy fruit aromas (mostly cherries and grapes) and raisins. Vanilla. Prominent alcohol fumes. The smell is not perfect, far from it. But it’s very impressive, and if the alcohol would have been more restrained, it would have been really good. The taste is way better than the smell, and even more intense. It’s very sweet with fat malty flavors. Caramel. Wonderful notes of wood and vanilla. Rich vinous and boozy fruity cognac character. Notes of toffee, leather and raisins. The finish is mildly bitter and packed with hot alcohol. Notes of caramel and cognac in the end. Full body, low carbonation. Very smooth, sticky and heavy. A very good beer, rich and creamy. It’s very heavy in character and definitely a sipper - it almost drinks like a fine cognac. Serving type: bottle (Copy of old Beer Advocate review)

Entered to celebrate my rating number 14,500. Bottled. An unclear brown beer with a thin lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of malt, berries, caramel, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, cognac, and berries, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. The body is thick.

[email protected] place. Appearance: Deep, deep, brown with a wee head that disappears rather quickly. Aroma: Oak, Ripe fruit, Plum, Raisin, Alcohol. Flavor: Caramel, Cognac, Vanilla, Hint of pepper, Ripe fruit. Palate: Very filling and winelike in character. Carbonation is quite low but perfect for this sipping-beer. Very balanced brew. Vinious. A great barrel-aged barleywine that was perfect for sipping at late at night. One of the better beers i’ve had in a long time.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2009 Red copper with a medium lasting, off-white head. Rich malty aroma with brown sugar and cognac, and vineous alcohol, slightly sharp and boozy. Sweet malty and vineous flavour with fruity notes. Finishes tannin dry.

Great beer from Nörrebro. Smoth and elegant feeling for a beer in this alcoholic region.
