Thanks to NoLiberty for opening this via Shaun E. Hill...
Appears a hazy brown with a small, off white cap. Spotty bits of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of heavy sugary, caramel, toffee, vanilla, fruit, and gentle hopping.
Taste is of resinous, sticky sugar, raisins, ripe fruit, oak, vanilla, and a touch of molasses.
Mouthfeel is sticky, hoppy, sugary, smooth, with mild heat shown from the abv.
bottle, thanks to ungstrup for fetching this from his cellar. lightly hazed amber with a minimal head; aroma of stonefruit past its prime, hints of cake dough; plenty of sweetness - rum’n’raisin, lightly citric, decent bitterness to back it up. very drinkable barley wine Svesse (8777) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JUN 6, 2014
(Bottle) Dark red colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity, vinous nose with dried fruit, caramel, port wine, oak wood, red fruit, pink grapefruit and lots of earthy/piney hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, red fruit, port wine, marzipan, a touch of chocolate, grapefruit, raisins, orange peel and a warming, vinous finish with a generous bitterness and a fair deal of alcohol. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Quite powerful, and possibly not very balanced, but quite tasty. Nice one. Yorker (2050) - Holstebro, DENMARK - APR 13, 2014

Very hazy red-brown-amber beer. Rich malt nose with something else in there, red fruits. Soft palate and a little dry. Rich barleywine with noticeable alcohol aniseed from the high abv, no real heat though. The Port and Red Wine barrels provide some red fruit richness. A nice barlywine that is just slightly let down by the level of aniseed.

Pours a dark amber colour with a white head. Aroma of sweet berries, caramel, oak and nuts. Flavour of sweet caramel malts, sour lingonberries, oak, tannine, smooth wood and quite bitter hops. Full bodied, slick mouthfeel and a long, warming, rich and sweet finish. Truly a dessert.

Aroma is rather sweet with raisins, plums and some sugar. Also some distant notes of moldy cellar. Flavour is sweetish with much warming alcohol, raisins, sugar and plums. Too sweet.

Pours dark reddish orange with a large bubbly white head. Armoa of ripe berries, some tart notes, fruits, heavy syrupy malts and wooden wine notes. Taste is sweet and wine-like with a lot of dark fruits, berries, sweet sugar and wooden notes. Finish is malty and sticky with some syrupy notes. Too sweet for my taste.
