English: Seven Bordeaux Barrel is a very rich Russian Imperial Stout, brewed in October 2008 by 7 of the best brewers in Denmark as a pooling of their individual recipes for the beer. After primary fermentation, this fraction of the brew was racked into an American oak barrel from a Bordeaux winery. After 7 (!) months in the barrel, the beer is intensely complex, full bodied with protruding vanilla, oaky and roasted aromas and flavours. Bitter, dry and smooth on the palate with a long vanilla aftertaste.

Bottle courtesy of Omhper. Cheers! Apperance: Pitch black with a beige/brownish head. Aroma: Oak, Vanilla, Ripe fruit, Chocolate. Taste: Vanilla, Dark caramel, Milk chocolate, Hint of ripe fruit, Hint of red wine. Palate: Velvety smooth, complex and quite filling without being cloying. Elegant and no trace of the alcohol. I really wish Nørrebro would brew this beer again. It’s so damn tasty.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a dense creamy brown head. The aroma is loaded with dried ripe dark fruit, chocolate, vanilla, hard roasted malt, light coffee, prunes and raisins. Thick creamy texture. The flavour is hard roasted malt, chocolate, dried fruit, oak, vanilla and has a slight vinous touch that easily could be from the barrels. Very long roasted oaked finish. World class brew!

Bottle at Max and Jess’s housewarming. Black hole of a pour slight touch of head. Wine, oak, some roasted and lighter chocolate and vanilla aromas. Flavors include roasted chocolate, woody vinous tones and lighter sweet malt tones.

(on bottle) Had high hopes for this beer, but it diden´t quitelive up to it. And would say that a beer of this standard coulden´t hit it´s peak so early, but the single lined wood and alcohol, seems to be the traces of a greater mixture of flaours and aromas. The aroma is, still, one of complex vanilla and tobacco notes, but the taste and finish flattens so fast I would dare to say; this is a beer of yesterday.

Bottled - entered and drunk again to celebrate my rating number 19,900. A pitch black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has strong notes of roasted malt, chocolate, alcohol, and wine, as well as lighter notes of wood and soy sauce. The flavor is sweet though with a slight acidic edge from the roasted malt and with notes of roasted malt, wood, chocolate, wine, and some alcohol, leading to a very dry, woody, and alcoholic finish.

Thanks Enjoyit for sending this rarity. Black an rich black body with a slight lighter brown head on top. Cocoa and wine aromas emminate. Full mouthfeel, a rich and declicious mix I am getting the fig,the wine barreling, the imperial stout almost takes second seat back to this.

N°1Thick-set, persistent dark cream to tan head over black beer, pouring absolutely viscous. Super-alcoholic nose, utterly filthily rich, with Vanilla, Bourbon, rather sweetish. Dry, alcoholic and yet sweet in taste. Superb balance, and impressive complex character. As said, filthily rich in MF, warming as none. Some R.I.S.! Many thanks to J & C!
