English: Seven Niepoort Barrel is a very rich imperial stout, brewed in October 2008 by 7 of the best brewers in Denmark by a pooling of their individual recipes for the beer. After primary fermentation, this fraction of the brew was racked into a port wine barrel from our friends at Niepoort. After 7 (!) months in the barrel, the beer is intensely full bodied, with rich port like sweetness. The aroma and flavour is dominated by ripe grapes, port, coffee, chocolate and liquorice roast characters. Silky smooth and full palate with a medium sweet, warming and long aftertaste.

Draft - Black body with a very creamy beige head; Very fruity nose lots of it from the barrel ad tons of roast that is way better fitting the the non-barrel version; Very soft textured and carbonated body, bittersweet with a very warm alcohol bite; Long finish with tons of roasted burn, the port aromas are at first to apparent but melds fine together in late in the very long finish. Very fine beers, but I actually like the straight version better.

Tap @ København Ølfestival 2009. Aroma has chocolate, roast,, woodchips, port fruitiness and some vanilla. Opaque, black coloured beer with a brown, bit fluorescent head. The taste is sweet with a lot of (roasted) malts with chocolate, oak some fruitiness, some vanilla and some wine. Lingering maltiness of dark chocolate malts. Perfect balance and complexity. WOW! Best beer at the festival!
