Tap @ Ølfestival, Valby, 2009.skortila (5850) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - MAY 31, 2009
Pours utterly opaque black. Impossible to see through. A great, creamy beige, staying head on top. Aroma is sweet, lots of wood, toffee, port, vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate and light liqourice. Super creamy mouthfeel, soooo velvety. Sweetish flavour with lots of roasted malts, port character, chocolate, oak and some super-elegant blueberry notes in the background. This is so elegantly balanced. Lots of power, but still the 12 % is so well hidden. Easily the best beer of the festival! Make more, Nørrebro!
Tap @ København Ølfestival 2009. Aroma has chocolate, roast,, woodchips, port fruitiness and some vanilla. Opaque, black coloured beer with a brown, bit fluorescent head. The taste is sweet with a lot of (roasted) malts with chocolate, oak some fruitiness, some vanilla and some wine. Lingering maltiness of dark chocolate malts. Perfect balance and complexity. WOW! Best beer at the festival! caesar (7133) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - AUG 5, 2009

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2012 pitch dark, smooth dark brown head.
aroma is roasted grains, licorice, faint dark fruits, blended stuff.
flavor is licorice, roasted stuff, ends roasted and aftertaset lingers forever. this is one of the got-to-try beers out there, so hurry! won’t last for long.
sampled at mikkeller bar about 2011 was oxidized, but okay.
sampled once more about late 2011 was as good as original.
sampled 2012-8-4- better than the original, aging has mellowed things, wood and barrel is a little bit more in front, so totally balanced, looks and smells like a fresh brew, re-rate to the level the beer has gone to after aging.
