Coffee aroma, not too strong. Smooth, salt liquorice. A bit vinous, but very drinkable. Sourish finish. Outstanding. thewolf (12949) - Kolding, DENMARK - MAY 18, 2009
Tap @ Ølfestival, Valby, 2009.NMC01 (70) - DENMARK - FEB 27, 2009
Pours completely black. A great set of creamy, beige head leaves great lacings. Aroma has leather, chocolate, roasted malts, some black currants, vinious and just a hint of coffee. Super creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Flavour is really fantastic. Vinious, dry, chocolate, grainy cocoa, ginger, Kenya coffee, hops and a long, lingering bitter roasted finish. Truly magnificent.
UPDATED: MAR 28, 2009 On tap at Nørrebro Bryghus in January. Delicious and powerful stout with a widely ranging palate including coffee, chocolate and liquourice and many other flavors as well. Sticky yet perfectly balanced with delicately hopped ending. Very very nice beer with even more flavors to be discovered. Ungstrup (38958) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - FEB 7, 2009
Entered to celebrate my rating number 12,100. Draft. A pitch black beer with a slight brown shine along the bottom of the glass under a thin lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol, wood, sherry, roasted malt, and soy sauce, as well as lighter notes of dark bitter chocolate. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, prunes, over ripe fruits, and wood, as well as medium notes of soy sauce, brown sugar, and alcohol, that tickles the tongue and palate, and burns lightly in the top of the throat. The finish is very bitter, both from the hops and the roasted malt. Nice one.
