Draught at the brewpub. A black beer with a very nice brown head, leaving many laces in the glass. The aroma has notes of roasted malt with notes of liquorice. The flavour is a powerful explosion of liquorice, with also coffee, roasty and black chocolate notes. good bitterness in the end. the body is strong, but this beer for me is highly drinkable. On tap at NB. Pours black with a light brown head and fine lacings. Tastes mostly sweet with toasted malts. But also has aromas of dark chocolate, coffee and a slight hint of alcohol. Very nice impy stout but it lacks that something-something to make it really special. Medium carbonation. Full bodied. nice dry finish. anders37 (26137) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JUL 20, 2007

UPDATED: APR 11, 2009 (On tap) Completely opaque black with a creamy, beige head leaving laces. Sweetish, licorice-like aroma. Very rich and robust body dominated by a shipload of sweetish, roasted malt. Notes of licorice and coffee are shining through although this isn’t really overly burned at all. Unfortunately there’s a wee edge of fustiness in the fore - as if the pipes aren’t completely clean. It diminishes but never completely vanishes. The alcohol is really showing off in the finish combined with a vague malt astringency. Indeed a big and potent beer, but unfortunately not a 100% clean in my sample. 200607 faroeviking (10821) - FAROE ISLANDS - JUN 20, 2007
Draught at the brewery together with thewolf. Pours a pitch black colour with a fair head leaving a good lacing. Bitter aroma with lots of roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee. The flavour has a very good roasty maltiness, dark chocolate, liquorice, coffee and bitterness. Bitter roasty long lasting finish. thewolf (12533) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUN 19, 2007
Draught @ Nørrebro [in faroevikings company]. Pours completely black with an enormous brown head. It lasted 10 minutes from pouring it to being able to drink it - that’s how long it took for the head to diminish. Heavy aroma with coffee, dark chocolate and a nice liqourice feel to it. Wonderful creamy mouthfeel. There is a softness to the flavour, sweet and with a clear chocolate and liqourice character. Finishes on a strong bitter roasted and hoppy note. fiulijn (20372) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 18, 2007

Black color; creamy head. The aroma shows some roasted malt but also dark chocolate. Good body structure (without being too thick or oily); the flavor is based on the roasted malt, with light dark chocolate, light bitter liquorice, very light leather. Balanced, quite elegant, after tasting some american monsters. Very good and pleasant.
From tap at the brewpub. Pours completely black with nice chocolate brown head. Aroma is roasted, coffee mainly. Clear liqourice presence and a vague orange note. Very inviting aroma. Served too cold again :( thick mouthfeel. Flavour gives a clear impression of a noerrebro brew. Starts sweet and goes into a strong coffee and liqourice blend with a few uplifting notes before it hits a solid bitterness (hellertau?) before the finish. Finish is a long lasting blend of liqourice and bitterhops but still maintaining some sweetness. Overall a liquid piece of liqourice, nicely broken into pieces by the hops.
