English: Based on a very classically brewed Belgian style tripel with just the one twist that it was fermented with a saison yeast blend. After primary and secondary fermentation on tank for 3 months, the beer was racked into French Sauternes oak barrels and inoculated with brettanomyces and lactobaccillus. After 8 months in the barrel, the beer shows a very charming combination of spicy aromas, earthy notes and the complex tartness added by the wild yeast and bacteria. The body is dry with intense spicy and fruity flavours with clear hints of vanilla and oak.
Ingredients: Barley malt, wheat malt and hops.

ClubGonzo (5683) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 1, 2011
Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Pours a dark-hued, near-brown milky orange body with a small white head. Nose is very fruity and rather complex, with sour hints: peaches, white wine, oaky vanilla tones, lime, muscat grapes, brett-funkish sour yeasty tones and hints of molasses, floral hops and clove. Definitely one of the most complex -aromatic profiles I’ve had in a Tripel; the style itself is barely recognizable but still somehow comes through. Nice. Taste is equally voluminous and complex: floral bitter hops and a rush of alcohol comes in early, then fruity grape and green apple notes have their moment before a solid, sour brettanomyces cloud lands hand in hand with some sweet molasses and vanilla towards the end. Long, tart bretty aftertaste with lots of Belgian yeast tones, white wine and warming alcohol . A highly special beer; definitely not for everyone but I really, really liked this one. While I haven’t been blown away by Nørrebro’s more conventional beers, their experimental stuff has been rather impressive so far. Keep ’em coming! :-)

[email protected] Dough, malts, fruit. Light amber, tiny off-white head, fair lace. Sweet, malty, some dough, hint of citrus, peach, sour, light bitter. Full, sticky, warming. Very nice tripel, but I don’t think all the oak aging and stuff made it an exceptional beer.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. A low beige head, quickly shrinking to layer of tiny bubbles. Body is softly carbonated, hazed reddish golden. Aroma has a strong barrel character. Oaky and vinous, sweet-scented with a tart berry note. Taste is light acidic berry-fruity with a certain tartness, some spice tones, and distinct barrel notes. A light underlying sweetness. Medium body strenght. Short acidic-fruity ending.

Bottle. It’s an unclear, dark golden beer with microfloaties and a minimal sized off-white head. Oaked and sweetish on the nose, still with an evident acidity. Sweet and oaked flavor too, fruity and sugary with some maltyness. Warming and full-bodied, finishing quite warming, in a pleasant way. A nice one, for sure, more reminiscent of a dessert wine than beer. 110513

Bottle. Deep golden colour with an off-white head. aroma is alcohol, oak, sour, berries. Flavour is sweet, alcohol, oak, sugar, berries, vanilla. Nice beer.

Pours amber with a white head. Aroma is caramel, sour notes, fruit, light brett and light oak. Flavour is caramel, sour, acidic notes, fruit, raisin, light brett and oak.

Yellow, no head. Slight honey, sweet wine, spice, fruity sour. Interesting, complex and strange.

Sampled at Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011. Pours a hazy and amber beer with small floaties and an offwhite head. The aroma is malt, acidity and fruit. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is refreshing with sweetness. Overall an average beer.

About 50ml poured from a bottle, Ølfestival København. Deep golden, fragile lacing. Slightly acidic to the nose. Tart and sweet flavour along with bitter yeast fruitiness. Wooden dry ending. Strong palate cleanser (Copenhagen, 28.05.2011).
