English: a sour Belgian style brown ale. The base beer was a Belgian Brune, brewed in September 2008 by the Master Brewer Class of 2008/09 at the Scandinavian School of Brewing. The finished beer was then allowed to age for 10 months in a Spanish Tempranillo barrel with multiple strains of Brettanomyces and Lactobacillus, resulting in a pleasantly sour, extremely complex, smooth beer with significant oaky, winey and barnyard flavours. Malt and caramel notes on the palate and a clean, crisp and fruity finish.

Bottle, brought by Jeppe. Brown color. Soft caramelly aroma with sherry notes and a hint of milk chocolate. Oaky flavor with sherry and caramel. Notes of citrus and leather. The aroma is OK. The beer is quite complex, but the flavors do not coincide well. Nevertheless a fine and interesting beer.

375 ml bottle, kindly shared by my beer pal Olav, who bought it at Nørrebro Bryghus. "Limited Release No. 2", ABV 6.5%. Hazy brown colour, big to moderate beige head. The aroma has some sourish fruity notes, hints of red wine vinegar, some malts too. Fairly sour flavour, some funky and malty notes.

A murky brown beer, very hazy and lots of sediments. A small off-white head that leaves some lacings. Definitely not a pretty sight. The nose is dominated by funky brett and aromas of oak barrels. Hints of tart fruits and vanilla and caramel malts. The taste is mildly sweet with a nice tart complement. Again, funky brett and oak barrels dominate the aromas. Notes of malts, caramel and tart cherries and red currants. The finish is mildly bitter and dry with some tart fruit notes and brett. Moderate body, slightly oily texture. This is quite far from the Belgian originals of the style and I think it drinks more like an American sour ale than a Belgian Oude bruin. Not a letdown, but still not as good as I had hoped for. Bottle.

Bottle from Ølbutiken, Copenhagen. These limited released beers from Nørrebro is bottled in some very nice bottle. Thumps up for people thinking just a bit about the appearence - Its classy. The pour is dark golden brown with a caffé-latte look alike tanned head with a certain volume. The nose is clearly citric and sour. There is malt notes and I think off apples, belgian lambic and some kind of toothpaste.. nice. The taste is more sweet than sour with a buttery finish without heavy tastes. There is a faint bitterness in the end too. The palate is mild with a little bite. I taste vanilla, strawberries and the references to the belgian influences is pretty clear. The barrelaging is not that dominating and I doesn’t taste that much wood that others here describe. But its nice and vinoes and could easely be served to a nice dinner...I’m thinking some fat fish - Cheers
