Pint glass at the joint- served a transparent golden/orange color, creamy head that laced upon the vessel, light carbonation, Very faint aroma consisting of malt, caramel, hops, and fresh grass. Hits the mouth with a light medium body, malt isn’t overly sweet- ’bout time, medium holds up well, finish is slightly creamy and lightly bittering. Not shabby, could have knocked back about a dozen of them and I’d be happy for the day! SudsMcDuff (8429) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - NOV 23, 2012
Had as just ESB, so i’m assuming this is the right spot .. . pours a maple gold .. mild head, low spotty lacing .. . medium bitterness .. . light hoppy wood .. . a nice simple straight shooter of a beer .. . . Look, we can sit here all day and play the blame game, or we can start freaking people out! kidmartinek (4999) - austin, Texas, USA - FEB 3, 2012
Translucent amber with a clearance nice white head. Malty nose. Flavor is more malty like an amber, not esb. Cool and crisp. Just too malty for me. I wanted something bitter. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - FEB 3, 2012
(Draught) Pours a clear amber body with a moderate white head. Aroma of caramel, apple, melon, and grass. Flavor of caramel, toffee, grass, and biscuit. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - JAN 29, 2011
On tap at the brewpub under the name Excalibur ESB. I assume this is the same beer.
The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma is fairly faint. I get a little bit of toffee and grass, but overall the beer doesn’t have much of an aroma. The flavor is more prominent. I get a lot of toffee malt with some grassy hop notes. As the beer warms I also get some pine notes from the hops. Very easy to drink. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Orangey, thin white head. Interesting nose of sourdough bread, tea, and light florals. Flavor was earthy, bready, and floral with a good bitterness that lasts the whole way through. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, soft bitter finish. A good session ale... Walt (2449) - Austin, Texas, USA - AUG 20, 2006
Pour is hazed golden amber with a thin off white head...smell is sweet and bready malty with some caramel...taste is nicely malty up front with some nice sourdough bread flavor and slightly subtle bitterness rounding out the finish... porterdog (4) - USA - SEP 19, 2005 does not count
Light straw color with a white head. Very subtle hop taste to the point of almost not being there. I was not impressed with this beer. Andrew196 (1902) - Katy, Texas, USA - AUG 30, 2002
Very average appearance, little head. Pretty good bitter though...nice maltiness throughout with a pleasant hop finish. What an ESB should taste like.
