on tap at NXNW. They call it a barley wine, it is listed here as english strong, I think both classifications would be accurate. Pours very nice ruby color with off white creamy head. Aroma includes of raisin, prune. Flavor includes dark fruit tones, molasses, and even some maple, burnt sugar. Very smooth and sippable for abv. Quite nice. At brewery on December 19, 2008. Served in a short snifter. Orange amber color, little to no head, with a lovely hop aroma. A fruity flavor and nice ABV made this sweet and warm, a nice mix, but lacking a little hops in my opinion. The beer pours a hazy dark reddish brown color with a tan head. The aroma is very heavy on the dark fruit and some very sweet malt. The flavor is similar with some added notes. I get a lot of brown sugar from the malt as well as some piney hops, dark fruit and some alcohol. The beer is fairly boozy, but less so than some other barleywines. The predominant flavor is brown sugar. Medium mouthfeel and low to medium carbonation.

22oz bottle-pours a slightly hazy amber with a big tight foamy light tan head. Aroma is slight medium fruit, musty, grain. Taste is medium malt-caramel, spice hops. Bottle shared by notalush. Very rich pumpkin, apple cider aroma, pepper and holiday spice. Delicious and complex. The flavor disappoints, though, harsh and pissy, dry, metal, with a totally off finish that at the back becomes bready. Sad after such a great aroma.
