22oz. bottle. Murky yellow-orange with a never-ending rocky white head. Apricot, peach, and lemongrass hop aroma. Crystal malt underneath candied pineapple and oily vegetal hop flavors. Mango and apricot hop flavors in the finish, with some grassy astringency. Mouthfeel is medium heavy, uneven thickness causing an almost gritty sensation.

Bottle. Poured deep orange in color with a huge overcarbonated head that just kept flowing and flowing. Fruity citrusy aroma. Orangey and apricot aroma. Citrusy hoppy flavor. Finish is nice and hoppy. Well balanced. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

Bomber from Walt. Overcarbonated and still coming out of the top after pouring. Nice zippy citrus aroma and pineapple makes its way easily from the foamy mess thats now 2 full glasses. Taste is a bit on the fruitty side with mangos and papaya, which is ok but not too good in my IPA’s. Nice hop bite is there to balance it out. Much better than the brewery’s Belgian brown I brought to Jimmacks. Very hoppy finish.

22oz bottle via trade with Walt! - Thanks! - A huge gusher that seemed to never stop. Poured cloudy dark golden with a gargantuan rocky offwhite head that stayed wonderfully and laced like crazy. Aromas of grapefruit and pine and some grainy malts underneath. Amazingly balanced flavor beneath. Nice grapefruit, and apricot hop flavor blends well with caramel sweetness. Well balanced medium bodied and somewhat resinous on the palate. Pretty nice example of the style!

Bottle from Walt and served in my Goose Island IPA tulip, thanks: The beer poured a hazy bottled-conditioned amber hue topped by a HUGE over-the-top frothy head which left outstanding lace in it’s wake. The aroma has notes of juicy fruit hops, light pine, pale and bready malt, and a hint of mineral based vapors.

The flavor were equally fruity and citric with some pepper and clove for good measure. The malt flavor is nearly fully suppressed but there still is a undeniable sweetness on the aftertaste. The mouth feel is quite lively and the beer is over carbonated (see above), the finish is metallic and astringent.

The solid IPA but falls short of anything I would seek out. Still If given the chance I would not turn it down.

Bottle Conditioned. Poured clear with a copper/amber color. I could smell the citrus hops seconds after popping the cap. Taste is similar, hugely dry-hopped with a rather high, but smooth, bitterness. Terrific offering.

goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - MAR 22, 2006
Poured an almost clear golden amber with a large almost white head. Hoppy aroma with citrus and grapefruit and some malt underneath. The flavor is mostly caramel that is mixed with a lot of acidic and citrusy hop flavors. Medium body.

Bottle courtesy Walt. Hazy yellow-orange body, thick off-white head. The bottle is spewing carbonation as I write. Biscuity, toasty aroma with assertive piney, citrusy hops. Balanced and rich. Bready, cerealy body with bitter, piney hops. Citrus rind complements the pine. I prefer the aroma to the flavor, but this is very good.

Bottle courtesy of Walt: Pours a clear deep golden with a large pillowy white head. Nice, fresh green mild pine and grapefruity hoppy aroma. Starts sweet with some lightly toasted sticky caramel malt and an earthy, resiny bitterness. Finishes crisp dry and bittersweet. A nice IPA.

hand bottle from lumpy the festivus troll. knew that ransoming his UTD jacket would payoff. wow, it popped when opened. pine lemon aroma before i could even pour this. giant friggin head man, just huge. nice floatie filled brownish red body. reminds me of sticking my face in a box of cascade pellets at great divide. grassy aroma comes out too but the lemon and pine is dominant. nice sweet flavor with a giant hop presence. pine, grassy syrup with some pinecones coated with lemon jelly. great hop bite in the finish that dries my mouth just right. this is a very damn good beer.
