375mL thanks to BMan1113VR. If this was the Barton Kriek, admins feel free to move rating. Pours a muddy pink to peach. Weak foam. Nose is
heavy acetic acid and dense cherry pie. Sweating, briny, hot vinegar. Taste is
aerated and mega acetic we hugeeeeee pickle juice and mega mega salt.
Small cherry juice. Spicy and salty. Hot hot hot hot acetic. I’m sweating right now. kbutler1 (1381) - North Carolina, USA - JUN 11, 2011
Bottle. Unlabeled bottle with cap that denotes it as the north by northwest kriek. Poured into my Lost Abbey tulip glass a dark murky red color with a rosy collared head. The nose is acidic with cherry undertones. The smell is really fruity and nice. Fairly sour with a tart cherry flavor. Some acetone undertones as well. Overall, this is a cool attempt at a kriek. The fruit is nice and the sourness is nice. thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 26, 2010
(375ml bottle 2006 vintage thanks to Walt) cloudy reddish-orange with tons of active carbonation and bubbles. Nose of cherry pie filling, cinnamon, and wood. Taste is very tart cherries, light astringency/acidic, and apple cider vinegar. Over carbonated and super tart. madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 16, 2010
10th October 2008. GABF. Cloudy brown beer. Fresh cherry ale - a little sour but it is really spot on and not overdone. Dry crisp cherry finish. Refreshing. spaceycasey (13) - , Texas, USA - JAN 3, 2010
Perhaps my single favorite beer in Texas - Barton Kriek seperates itself from popularized sugar-bombs found at tap-rooms nationwide.
Pours a slightly murky rose color with a full, long lasting off-white head. Aroma is of sour cherries and sweet malt.
Refreshingly tart cherry flavor - not overpoweringly sour in the slightest bit. Mouthfeel is carried by relatively high carbonation levels, expected for the style.
I could drink these all night until a cab or uniformed officer came for me.
