Mocha and espresso nose with touches of bakers cocoa. Very dry and clean on the palate. Slightly lactic on the palate, more reminiscent of a lacto stout. Lingering roasted and cocoa finish. ross (2146) - weddington, North Carolina, USA - MAR 23, 2007
Bottle from Irishboy, Thanks Richard. Pours out a dark brown color with a thick tan head on it. Smell is coffee and chocolate with some malty and hoppy overtones. Taste is dry and similar to a porter. Pretty sweet, lots of coffee and chocolate come through on this one. Interesting beer, very smooth and worth seeking out if you can find it. (Bottle via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=3 target=blank>IrishBoy, thanks Richard!) Smooth, nice, somewhat porter-like...Pours dark cola brown with large light cocoa brown head. Aroma is mostly milk chocolate with some light coffee roast. Mouthfeel quite smooth, very lightly oily. Poor, spotty lacing. Flavor is mostly milk chocolatey with a touch of coffee roast, esp. in finish. Bitterness mostly in finish and aftertaste. Pretty good but smells and tastes more like a porter. rmussman (1701) - California, USA - MAR 1, 2007
Sampled a 12 oz bottle and enjoyed it. It poured very nicely with a very dark brown appearance, nearly black. Drank very smoothly with a hint of roasted spices and chocolate. Worth a try.

Body is a black with ruby edges, no head. Aroma is very roasty , with some smoke, coffee and espresso. Taste is pretty coffee oriented, with a nice hop background, some caramel shows up also. Mouthfeel is about where it should be. IrishBoy (4202) - Bakersfield, California, USA - DEC 6, 2006
UPDATED: OCT 6, 2010 Bottle from Trader Joes; Nose is roasty, bitter chcolate, and prominate coffee; Transparent but very dark brown with a two finger tan head; Flavor is coffee with toastiness, hints of bitter chocolate, and some light hop bitterness for a finish. altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - NOV 4, 2006
Bottle at Dan’s. Dark stout. Tall head. Sweet taste, bit of chocolate and coffee. Bitter ending. NYHarvey (2153) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 27, 2006
Courtesy of Footbalm. Lighty roasty aroma with some mild brown ale nuttiness and very faint coffee suggestions. The body is dark brown to flat black and holds a creamy tan head that is about a thumb thick and lasting, but slightly bubbly on the sides. The first sip is slightly thin then a lot of roasted malt profile comes through with some cream notes and faint coffee. Tastes pretty good and has a nice burnt/roast bitterness in the finish. A mite thin, but tasty and enjoyable overall. 505 (271) - Echo Park, California, USA - JUL 9, 2006
Roasty aroma, some prune, nuts, and coffee. Not much head, but dark colored. Nice flavor, coffee, cola, nutty. Medium body, pretty good beer.
