Bottle. Dark brown stout with a thin, pale foam. Not very "heavy", but has a nice roasted aroma and a hint of fruit ? There is a slight bitterness in the finish. yespr (44706) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JUN 4, 2008
12 fl oz bottle. Pours black with a huge creamy and tan head. Roasted malt and somewhat wet woody hops note. Flavour is hardroasted malt and solid bitter. Goes into a more smooth flavour before the finish with a creamy texture containing notes of coffee and malt. Mild chocolate note too. Dry bitter finish with more of the same roasted malt flavour coming through. Ungstrup (37231) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - OCT 2, 2003
The flavor is sweet with strong chocolate notes. The color is dark brown and it has a fantastic brown head - looking like a stout should. The flavor is dominated by chocolate and coffee with sweet notes - all coming from a great malt blend. All in all a great beer. joergen (27970) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 30, 2005
Dark brown coloured with a beige head.
Roasted aroma with notes of chocolate and coffee.
Roasted flavour of chocolate and coffee with notes of dried fruits. oh6gdx (26482) - Vasa, FINLAND - AUG 7, 2006
Bottled. Brown/rubyish colour with mediumsized brown head. Aroma is raisins, sweet malts and dark chocolate. Roasted malts, toffee and chocolate in flavour. Hops become present in the aftertaste along with roast. OK stout, though it’s a bit thinpalated.

Bottle: Pours a very dark ruby colour, almost black. Long lasting off-white head. Has a roasted malt aroma with hints of cofee and chocolate. A bit weak in the taste. But you have the roasted taste and some coffe flavor too. Has a little bitter aftertaste. This is an other good beer from NCBC. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 26, 2006
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a very beautiful, clear, reddish mahogany with a dense, creamy beige coloured head. Roasted, lightly burned aroma. Medium body with accents of lightly burned malt and a hint of coffee. Light underlying sweetness all the way through. The malts leave quite some bitterness on my palate in the finish. 260206 omhper (24963) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - SEP 20, 2003
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2004 Bottled. Black, or at least very dark ruby, beige, dense head. Rich aroma of licorice and chocolate. Dry and salty with clean but rounded mouthfeel. Fairly roasty, coffee and aromatic citric hops dominate until a salty, bitter finish. Excellent hop profile and decent malt profile. Like most US microbrews it's an extrovert, flavourful beer, focusing on loads of flavour than subtle complexity. Travlr (24277) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 23, 2009
Very very black. Very very chocolatey. Fairly decent background of hops. Medium body, decent finish. Drinkable. Leighton (21083) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 26, 2010
Tap at Pony Bar. All the standard characteristics of a dry stout, but all above average. Like a Guinness but with sweeter and with more depth of character. Definitely a sessioner.
