COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Seems hard to believe that we’ve been making Old Rasputin for 10 years now, but that’s what’s happened. And, to celebrate the occasion, we’ve brewed a special small batch that’s been aged for 9 months in some 12 year-old bourbon barrels. It’s bottled in 500 ml bottles with a cork and wired finish and a special commemorative label ---- and it’s amazing. The depth, intensity and complexity of the flavor profile make it a worthy tribute to this fine beer.

This entry is for all anniversary Bourbon BA Old Rasputin releases.

[email protected], Stockholm. Deep ruby red colour (black), mediumsized beige head. Aroma is really whiskyish, oaky and vanilla mixed into some roasted malts and alcohol. Flavour is bourbon/whiskylike along with wood, vanilla, coffee and alcohol. Some licorace also shows up as it warms up a bit.

Bottle labeled Old Rasputin XII. Reddish black, dark tan edge head only. Aroma of Jack Daniels. Flavor of bourbon completely overwhelms and hides the beer. If I wanted a bourbon, I would have ordered a bourbon. Way over the top. Never again.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2007 Bottled at Akkurat, Stockkholm. Transparently black, clear. Aroma of vanilla and bourbon. Much lighter than I expected it to be, making it dangerously drinkable. There’s licorice and aniseed, the mouthfeel is dense and compact. Alcohol warms but doesn’t disturb. Licorice mingle with bourbon before a tarry salty finish. Really good!

5th March 2010. Pre ZBF. Opaque black beer. Soft dry palate. Rich dark malt. Mellow whisky falvours but boozy overall. Vanilla oak. Nice.
