COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Seems hard to believe that we’ve been making Old Rasputin for 10 years now, but that’s what’s happened. And, to celebrate the occasion, we’ve brewed a special small batch that’s been aged for 9 months in some 12 year-old bourbon barrels. It’s bottled in 500 ml bottles with a cork and wired finish and a special commemorative label ---- and it’s amazing. The depth, intensity and complexity of the flavor profile make it a worthy tribute to this fine beer.

This entry is for all anniversary Bourbon BA Old Rasputin releases.

The aroma carries strong vanilla bean ice cream notes with some caramal and charred bourbon soaked wood. Black is the color with a deep tan head that fades fairly quickly. It is smooth with chocolatey tase and a an alcohol finish.

beskid (133) - Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - JUN 18, 2017
UPDATED: JUL 11, 2017 vs XIX. Noble aroma with caramel, moss, wet forest, alcohol. Very drinkable with coffee, chocolate, lots of barrel notes, vanilla. A little bit more body and less carbonation could make it perfect.

Aged this an additional five years and it may have been a bit too long. Would’ve like a bit more sweetness. Prefer the un-barrel aged version.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2017 Bottled, XIX vintage. Pours black, tan head. Aroma is aged cheese. I’m hearing a lot of these got infected and that makes sense. Still has some leather, bourbon, musty, wine-like, sort of like Nelson hops. Flavor is bourbon, lots of leather, tobacco, smoke, chocolate, cheesey and kinda off. Probably infected which is a shame.

2011 Bardzo fajny aromat beczki wymieszany z czekoladą. Gładkie, zero alkoholu, w smaku jak w aromacie. Genialne. Aroma of dark chocolate, oak and coffee. Flavor quite similar to aroma

Aroma of dark chocolate, oak and mocha. Fantastic flavor, quite similar, quite chocolaty.

Review is for XVII Jet black pour with a thin espresso head. Aroma is big time oak. Just tons of barrel character as well as some bourbon. A little chocolate as well. Medium bodied. Chocolate blast in the flavor along with some wood notes. Slight alcohol burn in the finish. Dark chocolate bitterness at the end as well. A little lace present.

Version XVII. Rich and full. Dark and heavy. Roasted malt, oak, toast, coffee with a slight sweetness. Bourbon was supportive, not overwhelming.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2017 Rare draft at Bru Craft. Billed as Anniversary XIX (11.2%) but some research suggests it should properly be rated here. Opaque black pour. Dense khaki head. Nice lace. Deep, rich, expansive Bourbon cocoa flavors. Dark toffee malts. Hazelnuts. Molasses. Peat. Burnt celeriac. Nutmeg. Vanilla bean. Tobacco. Silky body. Feels like a huge Baltic Stout. Tremendous stuff! A force to be reckoned with!

fiveacestx (970) - Texas, USA - FEB 15, 2017
XVII bottle - dark pour with no head. A chocolate aroma and surprisingly just a little bourbon on the nose. A chocolate and vanilla taste along with a more obvious bourbon taste. Hints of malt, oak and licorice. Thin body.
