COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Produced in the tradition of 18th Century English brewers who supplied the court of Russia’s Catherine the Great, Old Rasputin seems to develop a cult following wherever it goes. It’s a rich, intense brew with big complex flavors and a warming finish.

The Old Rasputin brand image is a drawing of Rasputin with a phrase in Russian encircling it—A sincere friend is not born instantly.

Pours jet black into a snifter. Fruit and roasted chocolate aromas. Head quickly disspates to hug edge of glass. Medium sweet and heavy bitter -- almost like a chocolate espresso bean.

Pour was black with a tan head. This one is best served at about 50 - 55 degrees. The chocolate and caramel come out at this time and you get a nice achohol kick at the end.

Old Rasputin pours smooth, small tan head. A very rich and robust flavor but will leave you thirsty afterwards. It’s a worthwhile everyday drink but limit it to two or less, prefereable one. This isn’t a frat/puke beer.

stouts are not tops on my list but this one could change my mind. coffee and raison aroma. It taste like the same coffee and dark chocolate. What makes this special to me is the bitter finish with no trace of alcohol. I’ll have to pick this up again

Equal parts coffee, chocolate, and alcohol. The sweet chocolate and bitter coffee compliment each other particularly well.

Poured black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Tasted of coffee and chocolate with some alcoholic warming also. A great stout that I’m sure I will be enjoying over and over again.

I was actually not very impressed by this beer. Body is a beautiful black with an extremely small head. Aroma is of coffee. Taste is of coffee with a VERY bitter finish. Not my style, too bitter for my liking.
