Draft at Tap House in Seattle. Overall, this is probably the best stout Ive had. Pours with a deep black color with some dark red hues. The medium-sized beige head is super dense, producing lacing that covers the walls of the glass far past the final sip. The aroma is powerful: chocolate, espresso, somewhat smoked, without a hint of alcohol. The mouth feel is super creamy, with a taste that is heavenly: dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, a hint of vanilla perhaps. A must for any beer enthusiast.

It pours opaque black; the head is caramel and marshmallow like. The aroma has notes of: chocolate, toffee, toast, charcoal, and coffee. The palate is medium bodied, and has light carbonation; the finish is long. Overall, its bland and generic.

12 ounces bottle, thanks Guillaume for the gift. Aroma: molasses, ashes, light tobacco. App: dark brown, more black than coca cola, almost black, medium frothy beige head leaving thick lacing. Taste and palate: medium to full body, creamy, velvety, light to medium sweetness, moderate bitter finish. Overall: this is good. Really good. They really master the style. The palate is almost perfect. Not too sweet, a tiny tad too bitter but really velvety. Great. Really really well done. Its rare that I could drink a stout (or RIS) in a record time but this one is so smooth thus makes it really easy to drink.

Bottle. Dark brown body, huge mocha head with excellent retention and tons of lacing. Woodsy aroma of oak, burned sugar, licorice, dark chocolate, herbs and smoked prunes. Taste of well done toast, burned coffee, cocoa liquor, licorice and lots of bitter herbs. Well-done indeed.

Kauge (1740) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 18, 2017
Bottle, LCBO. Near pitch black with persistent tan head. Beautiful chocolaty and roasty aroma, in a way succulent, with a certain juicy fruity undertone, and a bit of booziness. Tastes (moderately) chocolatey-fudgey sweet with a whole lot of roastiness, finishing in a refreshing, slightly licorice-like tingle. Some ashiness on the palate, and a bit harsh in the finish. Carbonation soft. Overall a very well made IS.

This is my 100th rating thru rate beer, had to save it for something highly acclaimed lol. this is quite good stuff tho. strong and robust, but not offensive in any manner. lots of depth and a very long lasting finish. Its great but pricey.

Nitro version on draft at HopCat. Very good despite not being a big fan of nitro beers.

Butelka, warka do 18.01.2016. W smaku w kierunku wytrawnym, nadal palone słody, gorzka czekolada (ponad 80% kakao), espresso z mocno palonej arabiki, troszkę słodyczy od lukrecji. Finisz palony z popiołem, goryczka średnio-wysoka, nie przegięta. Piłem to piwo jako drugie, po żytnim piwie z wysokim ekstraktem i tutaj brakowało mi trochę ciała.

12oz bottle from HEB. Pours very dark brown with a light brown head. Cocoa nibs, dates, espresso, anise. Thick body, average carbonation. The benchmark for what every craft RIS should aspire to be. Incredibly rich in flavor and spot on for the texture i want for the style.

Pours black with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. Its very smooth but just a standard roasted malt and chocolate flavour.
