4.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Draft at Tap House in Seattle. Overall, this is probably the best stout I’ve had.
Pours with a deep black color with some dark red hues. The medium-sized beige head is super dense, producing lacing that covers the walls of the glass far past the final sip.
The aroma is powerful: chocolate, espresso, somewhat smoked, without a hint of alcohol.
The mouth feel is super creamy, with a taste that is heavenly: dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, a hint of vanilla perhaps. A must for any beer enthusiast.
Pours black with high light brown head. Aroma is coffee, roast, strong dark chocolate, beans, vanilla, light caramel, sour vegetables, even some citrus notes. Taste is vanilla, coffee, milky, milk chocolate, cocoa, roast, some citrus notes, caramel, some chocolate muffins, coffee with biscuits. Super warming beer! castellano42 (6) - - SEP 13, 2017 does not count
UPDATED: SEP 18, 2017 Had this at The Hall in Grants Pass Oregon in a snifter glass. Definitely my favorite stout and maybe my favorite overall beer I've had. Hopper8 (203) - Holland, Michigan, USA - SEP 8, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2017 It's got a nice aroma that's malty with a hint of hop. The taste is very chocolatey. It's probably the easiest and most pleasant of the Imperial Stouts. A nice beer to sip for complexity and for just sipping. Porcellini (44) - Barcelona, SPAIN - SEP 8, 2017
Negra, con aromas de café y chocolate, y notas afrutadas. Mucho cuerpo, poca espuma, final fuerte. inkart (3) - - SEP 5, 2017 does not count
Aroma: Dark malt, dark chocolate, and coffee with a hint of bourbon and sweetness.
Appearance: beautiful head, silky and fluffy. Dark like overbrewed cold brew coffee, with a hint of caramel color against the light. Light carbonation bubbles that lasted.
Taste: too bitter and strong throughout, with a slightly overwhelming finish. Wonderful caramel throughout, offsetting intense chocolate and coffee. Bourbon touches.
Palate: tannic and sharp.
A good beer, with strong flavors and a beautiful appearance. A bit imbalanced and too hoppy, would like to have some smoothness and sweetness to match the silky appearance.

First expressions - people give too much overall to this beer. I was a little bit disappointed... I left this beer for like 20 months to age... Aged was more complex, more choco notes and aroma, bourbony... Hops were so much in first expression... then in aged beers - much lower! I like low hop in imperial stout or even without it... - its not ipa... beer is a little bit boozy for 9 abv. also it is bitter... DougsBeer (24) - Nebraska, USA - AUG 4, 2017

Intense sticky alcoholic beginning. Intense dry and nice bittered, lots of roast. Very dry body, the aftertaste is very dry roasted malty and bitter, the alcohol is not too intense. Round and intense - Espresso, dried dry plums, lots of burned malt. Fantastic intense and dry brew. eallenbrown (23) - - JUL 21, 2017
Alcohol, anise, pine, oak. Surprising the alcohol doesn't blow you away more, the incredible balance is the real impressive piece here.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2017 On tap, nitro. What’s to say that hasn’t already been said - ultimate stout. Great mouth feel, palate, taste, aroma and finish. Can’t compare bottles to tap on this one - bottles don’t do it justice, and I’d rate it lower in bottles. If possible, get it on tap with nitro instead of CO2.
