Pours a very hazy yellow with big fluffy white head and good lacing. Aroma of banana a d pear with some bubble gum and spice. Taste is sweet and yeasty at first like ripe bananas and apricots then quite spicy and peppery as it warms. Can taste more fruit and a bit of toasted malt in finish. Medium bodied and quaffable with average carbonation which is a little light for a Belgian. Very good example of a Belgian Golden Ale. Has all the elements you look for in this style.
B+. Pours a hazy golden color with white head. Good flavor and very drinkable balloonbuffoon (269) - - JUN 12, 2017
25.4floz (750ml) bottle bought for super cheap as part of a three bottle and tulip glassware set a year ago, there is no freshness date found. Poured into one of the said tulip glasses. Appears bright gold with a thin film of head. Belgian style yeasts dominate the nose with floral, lemon, and medicinal aromas. Full in body, but not heavy as the palate evokes mild banana-clove and biscuit flavors. Cleanses well with only a slightest astringency. crazy_cat_lady (542) - - MAY 25, 2017
Bottle from Lucky grocery store in San Carlos. Warm dark golden colour, with a finely bubbled white head. Aromas of straw, lemon, some floral notes and faint spice. Nice full flavours of lemon, straw, some nice spiciness, yeasty. A lovely Belgian ale. BeerRenter76 (1007) - Texas, USA - MAY 10, 2017
Originally rated on 2/13/09. A nice hazy golden yellow body with plenty of carbonation that left nice thick lace. Aroma of yeast,a little fruit, with a touch of spice. Flavor was similar to the aroma but there was a slight metallic hint to it so i couldnt rate it higher in that category. Mouthfeel was decent, and it had a nice finish. Overall it was a pretty good beer, give it a try belgian ale fans. leaparsons (10504) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - APR 13, 2017
Bottle, Brewklopedia, Leicester. Burnt brown sugar with cola. Bready. Orange with herbs and spices. Banana with bubblegum. Yeasty with raisins and lemon. A little tinny. Cold black tea. Spicy finish. Decent.

Had this right after a disappointing Ommegang Witte. Immediate reaction...relief. This one hits the spot as a flavorful, easy drinking brew. Bottle into a big Sam Smith nonic. Not much foam, but a persisting thin white film. The ale is a cloudy yellow/orange with quite visible tiny and active bubbles quickly floating upward. Aroma of bread, spice, yeast. Good full flavor same as the aroma... light on the banana, thank the lords. Crisp, well balanced, dry, very pleasant. A good take on this style and with a bang for your buck as well. oobawa (1301) - Tennessee, USA - APR 2, 2017
Tasty pseudo-Belgian, big bright clove-laced sweetness mixing with grass and banana, a mild yeasty tartness adding a nice background. Gains fruity esters as it warms, then dries up somewhat for the sparkly finish. Easy to drink, easy to drink more. imdownthepub (14468) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 29, 2017
Bottled, 355ml from Favourite Beers of Cheltenham, Gloucs. Gold with white head. Remarkably thin beer for the ABV and style, strained, boiled vegetable notes in a weak malt then a perfumed, slightly oily hopped note. No off notes, some fruitiness. A bit of a disappointment. willisread (3293) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 21, 2017
1 year old bottle from Discount. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a small white head that dissipates pretty quickly. Faint lemon, grain, mustiness and estery pear on the nose. Active carbonation, with a light mouthfeel for the abv. Pear, apple, musty hay, some faint yeast all come alive as it warms. Pink peppercorn and a hint of ginger leaves on the finish. Very nice. beer-yum (1654) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 10, 2017
Alluring floral aroma in a golden pour. Laid back balance with complex, yet subtle, hints of spice, bread, and dried fruit. Clean finish leaves one wanting another (and what more do you want)?
