Light and malty with a bit of citrus, some dough, then thin through the finish. The hops are almost not present at all.

Pouring at Sierra Nevada beer camp 2017. Pours a clear gold with a medium sized white head. Crisp grain on the nose. Medium bodied, soft grain, lightly sweet with some cracker notes.

DATE: August 12, 2016... OCCASION: After a construction-related trip, we are now settling in at Uncle Jer’s... GLASSWARE: Penn State pilsner... pours a light golden body with sparse effervescence... the head, courtesy of a can in crisis, explodes with thick white froth that settles to thick glass-clinging algae and an even quarter-finger topping... an intriguing, slightly funky lemon grass crops up in the nostrils, while the hops also suggest softened Saaz ping... the malts are doughy, with barnyard funk an unwelcome suggestion... smooth, sippable to the point of slammable... light in body and effervescent enough to refresh... little aftertaste, with a dry finish... flavors include lemongrass, sourdough, flowers, apple and pear....on a humid, hot night, this beer is a reasonable compliment, refreshing enough... the first I had from this brewery, this pilsner suggests that others in their portfolio are worth tasting...

Aroma is malty, but taste has some nice hop balance to it. Overall very solid.

on tap @ North Country / Slippery Rock PA --- Hazy light / medium amber, ivory head that drops to a thin cover, dots of lace. Taste is malt that grows pleasantly sweeter as it flows through light fizz. Thin flowery hops to finish. Light, summery, so easy to quaff on a hot Pennsy afternoon.

jsporrer (1119) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 24, 2016
Pours a medium golden yellow with a thin white ring. Not much of an aroma. Slightly oily texture. Taste is fairly crisp with a little hop bite. Not too bad, fairly enjoyable for the style.

Pours a golden yellow. Aromas of corn and grains with a touch of hops. Flavor is bland, grainy taste.

Poured into a pilsner glass. 2.75 A: Clear deep yellow color. Big foamy white head requiring two pours. Retention is average and spotty lacing is left. 2.0 S: Grainy maltiness with a dusty woodiness. NondeScript fruitiness. Hmm. This isn’t what I want in a pilsner. It isn’t clean. There’s a vegetal component that is DMS-like, but it’s not quite corny. 2.0 T: The taste isn’t any better. Lots of strange vegetal off-flavors. The base is again grainy with lemony fruitiness. 2.5 M: Even the mouthfeel is lacking. Medium body. Despite lots of carbonation, it seems flat on the tongue. Lacking in creaminess. 1.75 D: I hope the rest of the mixed 8-pack does better than this one. ★ 701 characters DavoleBomb, Mar 31, 2015

On tap in WashPA. Pours a clear yellow color with a medium white head. A big sweet malty nose. Light pils malt, honey, lemons. OK. Smooth, very light.
