Clear dark copper with a good foam head cover and streams of solid lace. Taste begins with toasted malt, joined midway by clean floral hops. As it plays out, a slight sweetness returns to remind one of the opening. Good drinking brew. Recommended. JStax (7242) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - SEP 14, 2012
Poured on draft. Pours a hazy light copper with a sticky white head of foam. Decent lacing but not much retention. The aroma is mildly herbal and grassy with a mellow sweetness that’s a bit tangy. Taste is dry bitterness that gets sweet toward the finish. theisti (4221) - Kansas, USA - SEP 5, 2012
Approximately 3 ounce sample pour (in a plastic oversized shot glass) at the brewpub in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The pour is a lightly hazed golden, with a smallish egg white head. The aroma is caramel, along with a touch of apple fruit sweet, maybe some herbal. Unique nose. The taste has the strange bite, herbal fruit, maybe even pepper, I suppose that’s the hemp. A toasted malt carries the beer, nicely highlighting the odd spice herbal character (hemp?). The palate is light bodied, soft carbonation, and a nice dry mineral finish. Not sure I love hemp in beer, but this did a nice job highlighting it.
