COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Salt and Wood Range. Barrel aged Farmhouse Ale.

Farmers across Europe used to brew beer from the grain grown on their land. Rustic and robust, these farmhouse ales incorporated all manner of wild, tart and funky yeast characters. Rivage Brux starts its life as a spicy, tangy dry farmhouse style ale before being aged for 12 months in French oak sauvignon blanc barrels. The result is a lightly tart, dry, fruity beer that’s perfect for the dinner table.

Funky tart aroma in a golden pour. Nicely balanced funky tart taste to start is followed by a hint of wood in the fruity body and completed by a sustained dry bitter finish.

500ml Bottle. Pours a mild gold and red. Tart nose, slight sweet notes and spices. Fruity flavours with a slight tartness again. Semi full body coming from the barrel aging.

[8621-20160813] 500mL bottle. Light sweet herbal and vinegar leaf aroma. Clear, golden amber body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Sweet grainy leaf and vinegar herbal potpourri flavour has a bitter aftertaste. Medium body has an odd bite. Interesting but also strange. (6/3/7/3/13) 3.2

2016-08-13. Lightly hazy orange body with a small white head. 3+ Aroma is lightly vinous, fruity, with light wood notes. Flavour is similar, relatively dry, lightly alcoholic and vinous, light wood. Average bodied palate, modest to low carbonation. Pretty nice, I alternate between quite liking it and not really enjoying how it all comes together. 7/3/7/3/15-16 Bottle from Regional Wine & Spirits, Wellington, NZ.
