Tap at Facuets. Light clear, bubbly white head. Aroma is spam and salami! Smoke. Taste is similarly strange. Meat elements, quite fizzy, some lemony, sherbert initially, but soon swamped by meat and smoke. Minerals. Great stuff though. Never tasted anything like this. Bit of tonic water about the palate. Tingly. Really weird. Like it.

Tap at Craft Beer Works Kamikaze, Osaka. Pale golden; unexpected colour. White head, some lacing. This is interesting. There’s a citrus hoppiness running through along with the smoke. The combo is a little odd but they don’t seem to get in each other’s way, but nor do they really work together. Memorable.

Med golden color. Frothy creamy head. The nose has big hops and smokey notes. The mouth is very bitter with a massive smokey wallop. Not for the faint of heart. Big bitter finish with tons of smokey. Bam, Bam and Bam. Wow should be Smokey Gangster

A quite funky brew, crispy cereals character and plenty of smokiness with a touch of salt. Smooth and interesting drink from this solid brewery.

Tap at Yellow Ape. Clear golden color with a fine head. Smoky nose, dry, a touch of peat, some citrus, biscuit malt. Nicely smoky flavor. Light fruity sweetness, citrus, peach, biscuit. Finished very dry and smoky, bitter. Very nice rauchbier with no caramel.

Tons of smoke - Bacon, Overcooked steak and Hangi fish. Body is actually quite supple, if lacking some carbonation. Smoke is a bit over the top, but a fun beer.

On tap at 2nd Vine as part of my tasting set. Crystal clear gold with a thin filmy head, a nice citrus & floral hop bouquet rises from the glass - a bit gin like. Medium bodied, smokey I get some bacon wrapped asparagus notes very interesting. A tasty intriguing beer!
