Poured into a weizen glass, the appearance was a pale orange cloudy color with a nice two and a half finger’s worth of white foamy head that held for a good two minutes before gently dissipating. Spotty lace clung and then slid down the glass.
The aroma had the specific blend of sweet banana, clove, malted wheat, earthy sweet to semi-spicy yeastiness. Subtle hints of some light bubblegum, biscuit and honey come in to settle underneath.
The flavor blended in the true German fashion of the sweet to spicy yeasty esters to edge in some light pear. Nicely blended aftertaste that I expected with the balance of sweet malted wheat to spicy phenols. Finish scored the appropriate amounts of the sweet wheat to spiciness.
The feel was about medium bodied with a nice crisp sessionably smooth leveled out pillowy quality rolling along my tongue. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt as projected by the brewer.
Overall, an absolutely wonderful interpretation of the true style brewed by an American brewery. If I lived in this distribution, I’d be drinking this all Summer long.

Super cloudy and hazy golden and copper coloured body with a nice, thinnish, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of pure bliss - wheat, grass, yeast, bananas, cloves, bubblegum, apples, pears and much more bananas - very nice. Medium-bodied; Strong flavour of wheat, yeast, coriander seed, bananas, cloves, curacao, lemons, white pepper and even some grapes - very pungent throughout. Aftertaste is very refreshing, smooth, dry, bananay, yeastie and a touch spicey and herbal - very nice and super complex throughout. Overall, are we in Bavaria or what? This is as good as a german hef as I got in Bavaria less than two months ago, but I’m drinking (and bought) this sucker in Florida and it’s from a brewery in the North of Michigan!?! Definitely worth trying wherever you can find this, even if it is in Traverse City in December, it’s worth it. I sampled this twelve ounce stubby bottle purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 01-October-2015 for US$2,50 sampled at my hotel room in Clearwater Beach, Florida on 03-October-2015. Date brewed on: 18-May-2015, and for what it’s worth, I was not able to find this in any beer stores three weeks ago in Grand Rapids, Grand Haven, Saugatuck or Holland, Michigan.

12 ounce bottle into weizen glass, bottled on 5/18/2015. Pours hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big banana, bubblegum, clove, pear, apple, wheat, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and compelxity of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big banana, bubblegum, clove, pear, apple, wheat, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy bitter/yeast spice on the finish; with lingering notes of banana, bubblegum, clove, pear, apple, wheat, biscuit, light honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/yeast spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is an excellent hefeweizen. All around great robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

The beer pours like a hefeweizen should with streaks of yeast and opaque dark golden color, but the medium white head did fade quickly. The aroma had a lot of banana, but there was some underlying wheat sweetness and hint of clove; the taste was similar with a mild sweetness and a touch of sourness coming directly from a heavy banana flavor throughout the drinking experience. The palate had a nice medium body and thick texture, but the carbonation was a bit too soft for the other elements of the beer, resulting in a heavy drink by the end of the glass.

On tap: The aroma consists of light-moderate citrus and banana. It’s a cloudy dull orange with a small white head that quickly quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a very fine ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of citrus. There is some light-moderate banana in the middle. The finish has light orange peel and faint spice/clove. It’s light-medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation.

Tap at the bridge. Pours yellow with a white head. Not a ton on the nose. Lots of banana on the tongue with a hint of bubble gum. Finished clean. Solid example of style.

On tap at Dutch’s. Totally hazy golden orange color. Thin ring of white head. Leaves ropes and bits of lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Nice hefe yeast, light banana, some more orange citrus, hint of vanilla, good american wheat presence. Very light on the spice factor. Good full body. Light to moderate sweet taste, lightly tangy taste. Light bitterness. Solid, tasty kind of more assertive hefeweizen. Not too sweet, pretty crisp and refreshing. I had a few servings of this in days prior before finally sitting down to take notes on it.

Draft. Poured hazy orange color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate banana, clove and wheat aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a solid sweet wheat finish of moderate duration. Good refreshing brew.
