Where Purchased: 347ml bottle from Jolly Pumpkin Detroit Consumed: from a pilsner glass Aroma: Smells malty and a bit of yeast. Appearance : filtered pale medium gold with lots little head disappears immediately into no lacing. Taste: well balanced malty and sweet flavour. Palate : light body. Sweet aftertaste. Decent carbonation. Overall: It was a good easy drinking beer, similar to a lager. I was glad to try but probably will not buy again. MB. The Beer "Bear"on.

Bottle from Merchants. Aroma is metallic, strangely citrus, salt, wheat, earthy hop, not real reminiscent of an Oktoberfest. Appearance is amber golden, light tan head, clear. Taste is metallic, booze, corn, some toast, light earthy hop, not well made. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, syrupy corn and metallic aftertaste. Overall, way off. I'd throw this into the Pale Lager category if it didn't say Oktoberfest on the label.

you know the difference a bad marzen and a good amber have? .. very light amber .. mild foam .. some malt and pancake sweetness .. quite light, non offensive drink but lacking .. its easy to drink, so it's alright .. . . almost lost my credit card for the 3rd time in 10 days. time to stop the petrol sniffing sessions out by the dumpsters with Al...

Crisp copper coloured body with a very thin off-white head showing some nice orange glow at the bottom. Aroma of metal, light malt, toffee, a touch of fruit and little else - some biscuits perhaps. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong caramel and cereal flavours at first with some nuts, earth, metal and a touch of apples/pears and other very light fruits at the finish. Aftertaste shows a little peat, some toffee and caramelised sugars and a little nuttiness as well. Overall, a decent beer with a good profile and perhaps the best characteristic - no bitterness or harshness at all. I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Siciliano’s in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 11-September-2015 for US$1,79 sampled at home in Washington on the day of the first caucus of the presidential election year - on 01-February-2016.

On tap at Jolly Pumpkin Ann Arbor. Pours a clear orange gold with a near white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has lots of grain and straw with a sweet bite and a touch of light fruit. Flavor has sweet grains and a light nuttiness with straw notes underlying.

355ml stubby. Duantless cuase you have to sift through so many mediocre oktoberfests to find a good one. Soapy mushy grain aroma, some herbs. Falvor is candylike malt, some spice, sweet and grainy.

Bottle from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours Pours gold with a white head. Aroma of light spice and light malt. Med body or nearly. Flavor is slightly roasty malt with very light spice. It’s not really dry, and it’s not very hoppy. Nuff said.
