COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
North Peak Dubious is a Dark Chocolate Stout that has the perfect combination of chocolate, roast and black malts resulting in a smooth rich beer. Judicious use of hops bring out a complex, yet subtle bittering finished off with a big Goldings nose. This swirl of aroma, flavor and body is underscored by the rich chocolate that is added at the end of the boil. This medium bodied beer is brewed in Traverse City, MI, on Old Mission Peninsula incorporating locally grown hops.

Tallahassee, Fl - Beer Stop - 12 oz bottle. Deep, dark, sable black pour with some purple tints. Light mocha colored head that clings to the edge of the glass.Aroma is mellow, light coffee and chocolate, a touch of creosote. Flavor has a touch of creosote, some bittersweet dark chocolate notes, a touch of day old coffee. Nice warming mouthfeel, decent chalkiness, improves as it warms.

Aroma: classic stout dry dankness; Appearance: pitch black with thin, offwhite head that lingers; Taste: follows nose; nothing extraordinary, but a nice, solid stout; Palate: heavy body with short, dry finish; Overall: not my favorite style but good example. Would probably not get again.

seymour (1958) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - AUG 25, 2016
Poured from a cool squatty brown bottle into a nonic pub glass. Medium dark reddish brown colour with weak, fast fading head, no lace. Less dark then most stouts. Less toasty and roasty then typical stouts too, more of a caramelly brown ale plus subdued cacao nibs taste. Some grainy, bready, fruity aromas which were less pronounced in the flavour. Not even much chocolate flavour. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation, crystal malt aftertaste. Okay, not great. An easy-drinker but a missed opportunity as a chocolate stout.
