COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
North Peak Hoodoo Midwest Wet Hop IPA is the first of it’s kind. Brewed with fresh from the farm Michigan hops for exceptional flavor. Hoodoo is hops from start to finish with a little malt in the middle, just enough to keep Hoodoo from going Voodoo on you. not to worry - pretty much nothing but hops.

Dark copper color with almost no head and almost no aroma. Lacks hops at the end of the boil. Oily texture with a surprisingly good taste. Slight apricot flavor. No nasty aftertaste. The lack of aroma stops this from being an excellent beer.

On tap: The aroma consists of moderate citrus, grapefruit, candied orange, tropical fruits, and a hint of caramel. It’s a transparent amber with a small white head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thin ring. There is a decent amount of thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate citrus with some light tropical fruits. There is a hint of caramel in the background. The finish has moderate grapefruit, light lemon, and candied orange. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, it’s good, but I’m not the biggest fan of the candied orange flavors.

Cloudy orange pour with sparce specks of white on top. Grassy aroma with oranges, syrupy. Average carbonation, thicker mouthfeel that’s tingly, drier finish. Bitter citrus rind flavor, orange juice, grapefruit and piney hops mixed with astringent malts. Straight forward bitter IPA that lacks complexity.

vyvvy (6517) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - NOV 14, 2014
Pours clear golden orange with a large beige soapy head. The aroma has powder/perfume hops, light toast to the malt, caramel sweetness and soft citrus. It has a fairly full body with a moderate amount of carbonation. The flavor starts with lots of sweet rich caramel malt, mustiness, grapefruit, earth and floral hops. The finish dries out and has lots of pine, but the sweet rich malt is still big. There is a lingering resin. Interesting.

Bottle sample at the wet hop tasting at Blacklick Wine & Spirits on 10/23/14. Clear amber in color with a medium beige head. Aroma of malt and earthy hops. Malty flavor with slight booze before a grassy and earthy hop finish.

Small sampler at local draft house. Aroma is like pink grapefruit. Fair IPA taste but leaves a pretty strong aspirin taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Jolly Pumpkin. A slight danky hop aroma. Big fresh hop taste upfront. Sits on the tongue in a good way. Not bad. Pretty straight forward with its flavor.

12 fl oz bottle shared by my buddy, served child in a tulip glass. Hazy deep amber with a thin white rim. Resin and pine, nice fruitiness, caramel, quite sweet-smelling, slightly peppery, more bright, assertive and refreshing than diabolical. Medium body, fine, gentle carbonation. Sweet, peppery, fruity, resinous, light caramel, a little booze; sweet with pretty good bitterness and a long caramel, pine and fruit finish. A little too sweet for me.
