Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a ruddy burnt amber color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head. Dissipated fairly slow, leaving some light stringy semi-foamy lace.
The aroma had some caramel/toffee malts up front, light nuts, some earthy hops and a light floral to grapefruit sweet gentle hoppiness ever so slightly underneath.
The flavor leans towards the caramel/toffee malts at first and then brought in the hops somewhat gently. Aftertaste leans into the malts. Finish was the same with a light acceptable bubblegum
The feel was about medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Moderate carbonation and the ABV felt good.
Overall, pretty good imperial amber ale or American Strong ale if that’s what we’re supposed to call it these days. Just an all around great beer worth my time for a chilly Spring evening or mid-Autumn evening treat. BrownALEx (459) - Portland, Michigan, USA - DEC 18, 2016
This is humongous! A big beer with big flavor. Caramel malt and booze in the taste with a slight sweetness. Palate is long and sticky. Overall, a good beer but be careful, it’s a big one. Would get again. allmyvinyl (11394) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 3, 2016

You can tell this one is going to be a bear from the first scent. Definitely tastes of a strong ale. rondphoto (4573) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - MAY 26, 2015
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Cloudy dark brown color, 1" tan head, sheets of lace. Taste is dark fruit and earthy malt that grows through the palate to an edgy finish with mild hops and noticeable alcohol. Big, and heavy in a simple way. Not quite a winner for me. 12oz bottle - nose is caramel and grapefruit. Sip adds boozy grapefruit. Strong with lasting bitterness and slight sweetness. A sipper for sure. shrubber85 (11803) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - FEB 13, 2015
Bottle. Cherry caramel malt and alcohol aroma. Reddish brown with small head. Sweet cherry light caramel malt and strongly bitter orange peel/quinine flavor. Not much malt flavor and pretty harsh. tykechandler (343) - Kentucky, USA - FEB 1, 2015
