2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
I really wanted to like this more than I did, the only thing holding me back from rating it higher was the beer itself. It has a cool label design and comes in a cool stubby bottle ala Red Stripe. That’s really where the good stuff ends, not much worth reporting otherwise. Just pretty mediocre, I would like it better if it was free. I would drink it again, I just wouldn’t pay for it again.
UPDATED: NOV 25, 2017 thick, rich malty aroma, taste not as strong as the smell but malts present with a lingering sweetness, bottle. dwyerpg (6494) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - NOV 7, 2017
Not a huge amber fan but this was decent. Medium malt body, a body that isn't too thick or thin. Tasty. Subliminal64 (246) - London, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 14, 2017
Where Purchased: 347ml bottle from the Jolly Pumpkin in Detroit (Cass Corridor)
Consumed: from a pilsner glass
Aroma: Smells very malty.
Appearance : filtered medium red gold with medium head that disappears immediately into no lacing.
Taste: very malty with a bit of sweetness.
Palate : medium body. Sweet aftertaste. Good carbonation.
Overall: anothrer easy drinking beer from this brewer. Lots of malts with some sweetness. Bitterness nowhere to be seen. I was glad to try but probably will not buy again. MB. The Beer "Bear"on.

2015 BJCP Category: 19A American Amber Ale
AROMA: Sweet confectionery-like malt presence (caramel, toffee). Slight lemon sherry presence (oxidation). Minor earthy hop character. 8/12
APPEARANCE: Deep mahogany brown/almost magenta. Hazy, no visible CO2. Small off-white head mostly dissipates. 1/3
FLAVOR: Moderate caramel malt flavor throughout (especially up front). Sweet, but far from cloying. Moderate earthy hop presence and bitterness; enough to offer balance. Some lemon sherry/cardboard presence lurks in the background. Though it’s more to spec than not, the palette is too mild and oxidized to be appreciated. 11/20
MOUTHFEEL: Medium body with medium-low carbonation. Quite smooth and comfortable. No residual sweetness. Plenty of flavor and drinkability for 5% ABV. 4/5
OVERALL IMPRESSION: There’s probably a good recipe to this beer, but the finished product doesn’t do it justice. What should be a classic example is just meh. 5/10
TOTAL SCORE: 29/50
Cool bottle. Read pour, thin white head. Aroma of malts. Flavor is similar. Simple, malts, caramel. It’s sweet. Decent.

12 oz stubby bottle at home. Pours a clear amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have light toasted malts, caramel, floral, grass, mostly just a regular boring amber, I won’t revisit this. RobertDale (6980) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - SEP 14, 2016
Sample at KC Beerfest 2016. Comes a dark amber with a small tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and fruit. Taste is malt, caramel, dark fruit, and some grass. Just average. AndrewTeague (14) - Arkansas, USA - JUL 25, 2016
Enjoyed the maltiness and the lower hops bitterness. Not much aroma. Clear in appearance

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a strongly carbonated semi-transparent golden cola brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The weak aroma was malty. The semi-thick mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong malty aftertaste. The ok flavor contained notes of Vienna malt strong malt mild hops and dough. An OK brew just nothing special. RocknSkol (15) - - APR 4, 2016
Deep Amber color with a roasted malt, bakery aroma. Complex, roasted malt flavors that is very easy to drink. Great balance while avoiding the metallic or buttery flavors I pick up from many ambers. Great food pairing beer with a burger or steak or to simply drink on its own.
