COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
North Peak Wanderer is a Session IPA. This exciting new style is balanced with malt and hop characters and has a clean finish. The combination of full hop flavor and lower alcohol gives Wanderer a a wonderful drinkability! Wanderer has a light, clean and refreshing body, and is hopped with Perle, Willamette, Centennial and Citra hops that gives Wanderer a Citrus and Pine finish. Wanderer is rounded out with a generous amount of dry-hopping with Citra hops to fill the nose. It is brewed in Traverse City, MI, on Old Mission Peninsula incorporating locally grown hops.

Pours hazy copper with a thick, long lasting head. Smell is predominately citrus grapefruit with a touch of spiciness. Some session IPA’s tend to taste more like a pale ale. This one is not one of those. There is ample malt background to support the strong citrus hop flavors. This is a tad bit over-carbonated in my opinion though. This beer definitely doesn’t taste like a 4.2% ABV. This is a great session IPA.

amber, sparkling, cloudy, frothy, minimal head, white foam. bread, cereal, herbs, grass, leaves aromas (I know... it sounds off, but that’s what I’m getting). light sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour.medium body, thin feel, oily feel, average carbonation, bitter finish. I think the idea of a session IPA is always hilarious. Generic, but efficient artwork. Great bottle look.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 8/17/2013. A bit of a gusher upon opening. Pours moderately hazy orange amber color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, tangerine, pineapple, floral, grass, caramel, bread, light pine, and floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity of hop notes with a moderate malt balance; and decent strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange zest, pineapple, pine, floral, grass, bread, caramel, and floral earthiness. Good amount of earthy pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, pineapple, pine, floral, grass, bread, caramel, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and balance of bright citrus/pine hops flavors; with a crisp moderate malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very crisp and sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.2%. Overall this is a damn nice session IPA. Very nice robustness of bright hop flavors with a fair amount of malt; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

On tap at Jolly Pumpkin in Detroit pours a clear dark gold with some frothy, lacing white head. Nose is zippy with hop, grass, pine, citrus zest, lightly floral too. Flavor has just a hint of grist, lemon, lime, grass, straw, mild pine. Finishes dry and bitter. Crushable. Very well done.

[4102-20111112] Tap. Citrus orange hops aroma. Hazy, orange brown body with medium-lasting foamy off-white head and some lattice lacing. Medium bitter body. Tasty! (8/4/8/4/15+) 3.9

A bright addition to the line and a long overdue idea. Don’t get me wrong because I do prefer a 8-9% but sometimes I want to be in it for the long haul and this beer gives me the bitterness I crave with out putting me to bed too early.

Sample. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are rich hops, flowers, grass, straw, citrus and malt. Nice bitter finish.

Wow, I’m impressed. This is one of the tastiest session low alcohol IPAs I’ve had. Really wonderful hop aroma and flavor. Nice.

12 ounce bottle that was shared with a friend. This poured ginger colored and sported a nice thick head. It left substantial lacing all the way down. The nose was pine hops with some caramel. Those were also tasted along with floral and citrus notes. Big bitterness was a steady feature and dominated the aftertaste. I liked this and appreciated the low ABV.

12 oz bottle at a tasting on January 13. This is a great session IPA! I was happily surprised. The pour is a slightly orange-ish gold with a nice white head that lingers around, falls to a film, and laces gorgeously. The aroma is awesomely hoppy with loads of citrus that I wasn’t expecting from something with such a light ABV. The flavor is equally good. Crisp, clean, good hoppiness and citrus flavors. The aftertaste doesn’t linger very long at all, but the mouth feel coats nicely, like a decent IPA should
