bottle. hazy golden with one finger head. it seems to be an NEIPA, but with the addition of strong bitterness at the expense of some of the juiciness. the oats smooth things out slightly, but i'm not sure i'm a big fan. still, not a bad IPA.

Draft to taster at HopCat in Kalamazoo. Looks good for the style; a very hazy lemony pineapple with foamy eggshell head. Smells and tastes of tropical and citrusy hops with a mildly bittersweet backbone. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and moderately bitter. Enjoyable.

Quaint little pill-shaped bottle. Foggy, white-gold beer with a thin, clinging white head. Fresh AIPA aroma with lots of hops, prominent pineapple, sweet. Aggressive bittering - the stated 35 IBU seems low to me. Not that sweet, a little chemical, fermented pineapple notes. Not sure how much the oats contributed to the palate party, but it does have a good, frothy mouthfeel and very good carbonation. Long bitter aftertaste with some plums. Market Square Liquors, Timberlane. This grew on me and definitely got better as it warmed up a bit.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 7/11/2017. Pours very hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.7%. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Tastes almost identical to Thunder on hops, and is closer to an NEIPA this time. Has way more haze, less bitterness, and a bit more body. Very intensely vibrant, dank, and piney on hops; with a nice balancing malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. Still doesn’t match the original Stormy. Too bitter to be a proper NEIPA, but still really enjoyable.

On tap at Jolly Pumpkin in Ann Arbor. Poured a cloudy to murky orangish color with a small sized off white head. Floral, getting some of the oats, and lighter fruits.

Cloudy golden color. Solid body from oats. Leans hop bitter rather than hop fruity. 12 ounce squat bottle. Part of Stormy series.

From notes. This one was enjoyed at the MGB Summer Beer Fest 2017. The pour is a darker golden yellow with a thin bubbly ring of off white head and no lace as it disappears. The aroma is pretty decent. There is a lot of hop, but it’s a mixture of actual wet hops and bitterness. There isn’t a whole lot of juiciness here .The flavor is interesting. It’s got the same messy hops and a light maltiness toward the back end. The oats add more to the texture than anything. The mouth feel is medium bodied with a softer carbonation and a lingeringly butter and hoppy finish. This is really strange. I was hoping for more of a juicy addition to this, but it never happened. 7 4 6 4 14
