Sampled from the tap at Minnesota Winterfest 2017. Pours a very dark brown with a near white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a good amount of earthy dark grains and earthy bread with a bit of honey underlying. Flavor has lots of bread and dark grains with a touch of honey sweetness backing. edgallow (4640) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 5, 2015

Draft at brewpub. Translucent syrupy brown color with thin head, no lacing. Very light aroma. Very sweet honey flavor, plenty of malt backbone, moderate hops. High gravity masked well. A solid strong brown, but not spectacular..

On tap at brewpub pours a dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is of muted chocolate malt and honey. Taste of chocolate, slight nuts, lots honey, sweet, with some warming alcohol. Not bad, drinkable for 9.8%, but nothing really standing out here as overly amazing.
