On tap at Cafe Sara, december 9th 2016. Black body with a small beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, caramel and vanilla cookies. Taste is roasted with sweet chocolate, rasin, fig. Black with a decent tan covering.
Nose is light charr, black peppery spice, chocolate, toffee, fruit rinds.
Taste comprises toffee fudge, spice, fruit cake, molasses, roast malts, dark chocolate, dates.
Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, drying close with a light boost offered.

Aromat mlecznej czekolady, fudge czekoladowego, karmelu, subtelnej lukrecji i brązowego cukru. Smak znów powtórka z aromatu, czyli dominuje czekolada mlecznq, karmel, ciut ciemnych owoców, cukier w typie muscovado. Tekstura i ciało gładkie, aksamitne, nawet lekko mięsiste. Dobre, słodkie smaki czekolady i karmelu, lekki banan, zapewne z drożdży i przypraw.

Can at Matteo’s Leaving tasting. It pours jet black with a thick tan head. The aroma is sweet, toasty, rich roasted malt, cocoa, dark fruits, raisin and sultana. The taste is quite sweet, toasty, earthy roast, wood, leather, raisin, sultana, treacle, a bit sugary, cake and some warming alcohol with a slick finish. Matteo’s Ciao @ Craft Islington. Can. Thanks to Leighton and Fergus. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy and dry, good fine carbonation. Fluffy dark malts, little cream, mild dark chocolate. Spicy esters and spicy bubblegum. Dry finish. To estery for me.

Pours dark reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, molasses, brown sugar, vanilla and oat. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, dark chocolate, coffee, molasses, brown sugar, vanilla, oat and light hint of smoke. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
February 2017 - Can share at CBC Islington for the Matteo Farewell tasting, as ’Northern Monk / De Molen Malt’. Many thanks to LKS and FXX for this one. Dark brown, red hue, foamy brown head leaves light lacing. Aroma is coffee and varnish, big plasticky esters, yeasty. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste has some coffee, yeasty and spicy, plastic notes. A touch too spicy but decent. (3.4)
