Tap at the Junkyard. Pours dark brown with dark tan halo top. Aroma praline chocolate with cherries. Taste is medium to full sweet with bitter chocolate notes. Palate is medium to full, feel is creamy, carbonation is soft to average, and finish is long and still sweet. If one orders a Black Forest Imperial Stout then one should be unsurprised by its sweetness but like the gateau a little goes a long way.

Keg at Brewdog Birmingham. A black colour with a medium tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, cherry, roasted malts, some chocolate, slight coffee and subtle soy sauce. Taste of dark fruits, cherry liquor, some chocolate, slight fresh cherry and subtle roasted malts. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A long, sweetish, chocolate and cherry liquor finish. A surprisingly refreshing imperial stout, decent amount of cherry liquor flavour as well as chocolate. Good but not as good as the original or the sticky toffee. Mjp12 (2121) - York, North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 24, 2017
Aroma has some cherry cola notes, and coffee. More cherry cola on the tongue, with some bitter coffee on the finish. Lacks a little carbonation to lift it . Theydon_Bois (21503) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - OCT 11, 2017
