An Oxymoron? Counterintuitive? Controversial? Black IPA marries the toasty dark malts of a stout with the hop punch of our New World IPA. Seen as an invention of the US craft movement, others believe the beer has its roots in centuries of British brewing tradition. Too dark to be an IPA, too hoppy to be a Porter, this beer is heavily dry-hopped with US and New Zealand varieties for a scintillating aroma of pine and tropical fruit Hints of toasted malt mix with big layers of US hop character from the addition of Simcoe and Mosaic Varieties.
