From old tasting notes. Translucent dark brown liquid topped by a rocky beige head. Sweet roasted malt aroma. Delicious roasted malt flavor hints at chocolate and cappuccino. philbertk (1873) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 11, 2010

This was one of the first porters that I ever bought more than once, back in the late 90s. Very dark pour, with good aroma of coffee, chocolate, and malt. Tastes roasty, with a smooth, slightly sweet, full, roasted coffee finish. Crit (4049) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 5, 2002
Brown head with faint burnt nose. Lingering burnt chocolate espresso taste..

A nice, sweet porter. Too bad Nor'Wester went out of business and Saxer doesn't make this anymore (Saxer owns the company's beers now) canary dog (779) - Rutland, Vermont, USA - JUL 3, 2001
I haven't had this in years. From what I remember it was a very enjoyable porter. I don't know why, but most microbrews make pretty decent porters.
