COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

50cl Bb06/2017, Edeka Tirschenreuth. - Darker soggy amber pour, lukewarm Landbrot with a damp crust. Earthy fruit, soil-trodden red apples and a cooked vegetable stew in the nose, a compote of terroir not particularly refined yet rich- yeasty sweet banana to join the milkshake broth. Mostly roasted bread in flavour, but a thick cut of damp Landbrot put into a toaster not its size, releasing some more fruit but also fruitpeel sulphurs. So far bottled Zoigl does not come close and mars the idea of the real thing....

Draft at Maxs Taphouse. This looks to be the first US draft rating. Clear gold color with shooting bubbles and a decent head retention. Aroma of fresh cut hay, light herbal hops, and little sweet white biscuit. Mouthfeel is a little sticky and thicker than anticipated. Flavor has s thick white biscuit aspect at first but th en a mineralness cuts through it and it finishes not sweet and clean. Pretty fun beer.

Bottle with a best-by date still four months away... so pretty fresh. Pours very hazy gold with a nice-looking layer of creamy, sticky white foam. Smells of lemons, orange zest, nuts, fresh white bread, hay. Lightly bitter, mildly sweet taste with a bit of zesty-yeasty zing to it. Fairly lively carbonation. Could use a bit more bite, but its plenty drinkable.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2015 Flasche von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin. - Orangegelb, trb.
