niquillis (2752) - Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 7, 2017
Cask at Bridge Street Ale House, Newcastle under Lyme. Pours golden amber. A decent spicy malt led bitter with a sharp hop finish. A raspy bitter in good order.

Draught (Drapers Arms, Peterborough)
Light orange, small loose head. Simple grainy aroma, light estery fruity component. Very bready grainy taste, wholemeal loaf. Some husky hopping leaves a bitter finish. Sounds good, but actually it’s a bit dull. Certainly adequate though.

berkshirejohn (6502) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 12, 2015
Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Straw coloured with a loose white head; sweet grainy aroma; spicy taste, with a sweet grainy body; and a biscuity finish. Satisfying, but not very exciting.

badcat73 (27) - - AUG 29, 2014
Cask Black Lion Leighton Buzzard. Amber coloured. No head. Sweet on the nose. Fruitcake leading into a short lived subdued bitter aftertaste. Not very exciting but also unpleasant.

2.8
BlackHaddock (7346) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - DEC 8, 2013
Hand-pulled half-pint on 23rd Nov in The Old Blenheim, Oxford. Deep golden amber body, minimal head. The nose was mild, some caramel biscuit hints if you sniff hard enough. The taste was also caramel led, though this isn’t a sweet beer: it’s balanced with subtle hop influences intermingling with those malt molasses. Nothing strong or heavy, just a pleasant tasting beer.

ManVsBeer (10476) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 15, 2013
Golden bitter with a lovely smooth feel in the palate. Lightest of malts in the aroma. No real flavour but this is a texture ale. Small thin head.
