Taste is chocolate, soft toffee malts, milky fudge. Lovely balance and flavours. Delivers a lot at the ABV. A very good mild indeed. (3.7) ekstedt (6948) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 18, 2016

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2016 Cask at the Crown. Smells yeasty and mealy to me. Pours mahogany dark with cream scum some lacing. Tastes of roasted malt and heather honey with a great tang on the palate. A classic. Bemused that this is my first rating as it’s not the first taste. SarkyNorthener (4784) - West Bromwich (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - NOV 26, 2015

Inn micropub. Lichfield. Black beer medium tan head good lacing. Aroma light roasted malts. Taste is chocolate, some coffee, roast malts and nutty. Creamy palate. Very good especially for such a low ABV.
The Trent Bridge, Nottingham, 11/04/14. Dark ruby topped with beige. Dunkelweizen-like plum and spiced apple on nose; chocolate, citrus hop. Really decent with contemporary citrus and blackcurrant undercurrents leaning towards bipartisan (black IPA!). Some coffee grounds; slight tang of sour. Really good. edsspoon (905) - Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAR 30, 2014
