UPDATED: AUG 26, 2008 Courtesy of Degarth. Pours clear brown-ish amber with thin tan head. The aroma is fruity with plums, cherries, prunes and raisins. Very little malt noticed. The taste is mildly fruity with esters moving into a note of malt astringency tartness then a pretty solid smokiness. Midway and into the finish a Munich like grainy malt rises up to join the smoke sensation. Pretty cool. afterglow (1047) - Florida, USA - JUL 27, 2008
Bottle courtesy CigarCityBrew. Pours a clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, sweet malt, and light roasted malt. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Good. oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUL 3, 2008
Bottled. Deep ruby colour (near black), small beigeish brown head. Aroma is mild caramel malts, sugar and some balancing mild notes of hops. Flavour is much the same. Compared to the Velikonoční Podkrkonošsky Speciál Tmavý, this one lacks the candyish sweetness and pretty much the roasted notes. JK54B (1602) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 28, 2008

Bottled. Dark rubyish brown colour with mediumsized brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel and some sweet dark sugary notes. Flavour is caramel, toffee, slightly roaste dmalts and some hops. Candyish sweetness lurking in the background. Not too bad.
Easter beer. Dark ruby colour. Light brown head. Malty taste. Some hints of glue in the taste. Some taste of hops in the finish. ogreface (1390) - Budapest, HUNGARY - MAY 20, 2008
A Budapesti Cseh Sörfesztivál egyik legjobb söre volt az én számomra!Finom pörkölt magos, kávés és nem túl édes!Nagy kár hogy egyenlőre csak a fesztivál idején lehetett kapni!

Nice beer with a copper body and a small beige head. Complex and sweet aroma and taste of coffe, chocolate and roasted grains. janir (216) - Oulu, FINLAND - APR 8, 2008
Light brown head disappears fast but leaves nice lacing. Color is dark reddish-brown. Aroma is sweet and a bit roasted malts. Sweet malts and smoke in flavor. Aftertaste is dry and bitter. Flavor contains also some odd nuances. austone (1062) - Turku; Pori, FINLAND - MAR 24, 2008
Opaque ruby, disappearing foamy head. Nose is dark fruits, some herbs and all sorts of vegetables. Stuffy/earthy overall tone. Flavor has burned malts, some liquorice, dark fruits and herbs. Finishes dry, with ashy and burned bitterness, a bit porter like even. Medium bodied with quite big bubbled and coarse carbonation. Strange. Miksu (5053) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - MAR 23, 2008
0.5 l bottle. Dark mahagony color, sparkling cola head. Sweetish, bready and roasty flavor with hint of licorice. Bready, roasty, caramelly and sugary flavor with licorice as well as weird woody and plastic off flavors. esox (1225) - Oulu, FINLAND - MAR 22, 2008
UPDATED: MAR 27, 2009 Dark, reddish brown beer. Medium-sized firm and creamy tan head that diminishes slowly. The aroma is sweet, malty and spicy. Stange combination of gingerbread cookies and fruits on the nose. Some hops and fresh grass on the background. The flavor is sweet and malty. It has molasses and dried fruits (raisins and apricots). Same glue-like house flavor as in valdtejn. Medium roastedness, a hint of smoke and some milk chocolate. The finish is quite bitter with some
chocolatey malts, light roastedness and "glue". Hides alcohol very well. The palate is medium bodied, silky soft and low carbonated. Sticky bitterness in the finish, but it´s a bit dull. Once again, a peculiar and quite diverse beer from Nova Paka. Somehow I´ve enjoyed their beers and this one is no exception. ( 7-3-7-3-14)

Medium sized head is blond/bege in colour. Forms nice lacing and does not disappear totally. Nice dark amber or reddish-brown colour is clear. Some roasted malts in aroma, but mostly sweet and a bit spicy. Medium body. Palate is grass-like sweet and spicy, malts are finely roasted. Some dry bitterness in aftertaste. Pretty enjoyable beer.
