Bottled. A deep red beer with a lazing light tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, malt, and a bit of metal, leading to a nicely bitter finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. anders37 (26878) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JAN 6, 2017
Bottle. Pours a dark amber ruby color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty bready caramel aroma. Fruity malty bready caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty slightly roasted malty bready finish. oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUL 3, 2008
Bottled. Deep ruby colour (near black), small beigeish brown head. Aroma is mild caramel malts, sugar and some balancing mild notes of hops. Flavour is much the same. Compared to the Velikonoční Podkrkonošsky Speciál Tmavý, this one lacks the candyish sweetness and pretty much the roasted notes.

Tasting at Leighton’s Flat. Thanks to Fergus. Lightly hazy amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is airy, dry and crisp. Mild malts, little caramel. Sweet esters. Touch of apple and mild dried fruits. Airy dry finish. Messy.
Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of oh6gdx. Pours a clear warm orangey brown with a creamy beige head leaving some laces. Roasted malt in the nose - and a little smoke?? Solid body with a massive malt base. Roasted malts, sweet caramel and a whiff of glue. Again a whiff of smoke. Quite some bitterness in the finish. Not really a Dunkel at 6.3% right? And the smoky accents confuse. 230310 Leighton (22056) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 10, 2014
Bottle shared in London. Thanks to Fergus. Pours clear red-brown with a dense, foamy beige head. The nose holds lightly tangy berries, other dark fruits and brown bread. Medium sweet flavor with toasted bread, light toffee, semi-dry dark fruits, earth. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with some dry and toasty bread, further berries, mellow toffee. Quite basic overall. Theydon_Bois (20486) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2015
