mahogany colour, huge, dense, long lasting beige head; aroma of plum, some figs, maybe some raisin, biscuit, caramel notes, hints of coffee and ash; taste of roasted malt, minimal coffee, hints of dried fruity notes (plum and figs) and ash; decent tmavy MartinT (10036) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 11, 2013
My Bottom Line:
Kita (2217) - Koper, SLOVENIA - MAY 13, 2014
This Tmavy delights with its cherry-like fruity angles, its intelligently roasted malts and its earthy hop bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A tower of foam protects the dark brown with mahogany highlights.
-Mouthfeel is frothy and lean.
-Drinkability is high for its strength.
-Light chocolate is also contributed by the roasted malts.
On tap at U Slovanské Lipy, Praha.
Bottle, 0.50l. Clear dark brown color with large frothy light brown head and good lacing. Aroma of strong roasted malt, coffee, caramel, dark fruits and grassy hops. Taste starts with moderate sweet roasted and caramel malt, follows by refreshing herbal and fruity sourness, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Pleasantly roasted dunkel... FatPhil (16960) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUL 7, 2007

Very dark brown, barely lets any light through. Dark cappuccino head. Huge sweet malt aroma, bready, almost cakey. Rich and smooth taste - very roasted malts, liquorice, and ginger hoppiness. Stays in your mouth a while too, nice! Alcohol is absolutely nowhere - so incredibly drinkable, pint after pint.
Rerate - more palate, less flavour.
Aroma more cocoaey this time. Tasty and full bodies, but not wowing me this time. I was stingey last time, so total score not changed.
Bottle (purchased at the Pivni Galerie): Dark ruby amber coloured, bigger loose but persistent tanned head, sweet dark-malty and caramelly nose with a shovel of toasted malt and a dash of aromatic hops; medium bodied, robust sweet-bitter flavour, smooth MF; distinctive hoppiness in the sugary-caramelly finish. Good, well crafted stuff............ Ibrew2or3 (8808) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - AUG 3, 2008
UPDATED: AUG 26, 2008 Courtesy of Degarth. Pours clear brown-ish amber with thin tan head. The aroma is fruity with plums, cherries, prunes and raisins. Very little malt noticed. The taste is mildly fruity with esters moving into a note of malt astringency tartness then a pretty solid smokiness. Midway and into the finish a Munich like grainy malt rises up to join the smoke sensation. Pretty cool. sebletitje (10286) - Enghien, BELGIUM - JUN 29, 2009

pours dark brown, off white head.
Aroma, apple, caramel, malty.
Taste, light roasted malts, could not help but notice a nice apple like palate, sweet sugary, with some dark fruits;cherry, prune for a light astringent finish.
