From tap at the restaurant. Pours cloudy dark brown with a redish glare and a slowly collapsing light tan head. Butterish and mild roasted malt aroma. Mild roasted to just toasted malt, light liqourice note and mild sweetness in the flavour. Ends mild malty and slight toasted with no bitterness.

Draught. Deep ruby red colour, mediumsized creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel, some raisins and mildly roasted notes. Flavour is mildly roasted, quite sweet malts with some sllight earthy/yeasty notes.

Dark nut brown. Unfiltered. Spicy nose, sweetish body, bitter finish. Complex but on the thin side.

Gut! 12/12/11/12//12

Swingtop bottle. Nice creamy head with excellent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are sweet lactose sugar, roast malt, chocolate, coffee, caramel and hops. Sweet and easy drinkable.

On tap at the brew pub. Ruby/chestnut with lasting thick beige head. Like a lot of these beers, lots of toffee, bit watery in mouth, a bit of hop one the end. But the toffee isn’t integrated and flies around giong nowhere. Not enough malt burnt/roasted flavours nor body. Not as good as the blond

Somewhat hazy amber color, nice lasting offwhite head. Malty aroma, but also yeast enough to make me suggest this wasnt the perfect brew. Hoppy flavor, grassy and metallic.

Dark ruby brown color, firm big brown head. Sweety-bready, caramelly and lightly diacetylic nose. Light chocolaty and sweet caramelly flavor with some woody hops. Kind of drinkable, but didn’t impress me.

Tap (Novomestsky, Prague)

Gentle roasty aroma. Rich red. Lovely husky roasted taste. Medium palate, pleasant carbonation. A light easy drinker. Good for 3.5%.
