Black. Rocky off-white head that soon diminishes. Mild coffee aroma. Roasted flavor with a clear coffee-feel. Radek Kliber (7359) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - MAY 30, 2006
tap at brewpub.Light dark roasty nose, very faint aroma. Appearance: dark, muddy brown with neat creamy top. Super clean dark roasty character, slightly sharper than average but still superbly smooth and drinkable. Clean smooth finish. I loved that dry mocha in the middle. brewpub. Frothy tan head. Body is opaque brown. Dry malts and yeast on the nose, very fresh smelling. A fruit scent, mild coffee, hayish and dusty hops, too. Fresh and dry, coffee-ish malt body. Roasted notes, and a touch of caramel and nuts. Some barely noticeable hops underneath. Crisp mouthfeel. Fruity and light caramelly ending. Elegant with high drinkability.

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2003 Draught at the brewpub: Dark brown coloured. Huge beige head. Lasting. Malts and cocoa in the nose. Malty and chocolatish flavour. A bit acidic. Full mouthfeel. Dry bitter finish. fata2683 (2176) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - MAR 20, 2009
on tap at the brewery pours amber, tall off white head. Light sweet tea aroma. Sweet light malt, mild roasted malt and a nutty, bread finish. Moderate carbonation, full bodied. A well rounded dark lager, right in every way. mR_fr0g (12119) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 12, 2015
Keg at the Brewpub in Prague Day 4 of Fergus and Sarah’s Czech jaunt. 2/10/14. Semi-clear mahogany brown / ruby red coloured pour with a thin sticky greyish head. Aroma is choc, wood, earthy bark, malty. Flavour is cars-malt, nutty toast, little dried fruits. Palate is nice , fine body, fine carbonation. Crisp finish. Tasty well made beer. KyotoLefty (10264) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUL 26, 2016
Old notes. Tap at the brewpub. Unfiltered. Aroma of chocolate or cocoa. Flavors of chocolate, with a little bit of earth and some grassy hops. Good malt character. It is reminiscent of some of the dark Keller beers from Franconia. Finishes dry. It is not very hoppy, but it has a really dry, earthy taste. It is really nice, not sweet, but it is chocolatey. Easy to drink.
