Bottle from Auchan supermarket in Calais. Ruby-black with a craggy beige head and a very light but prickly fizz. Creamy chocolate Horlicks to the front with a bit of black coffee, a waft of smoke and a slight sour and metallic note. Maybe some blackberry too. Sweetish up front but drying in the finish. The flavours are a little subdued but yeah, this is not bad. Borup (14332) - Albertslund, DENMARK - OCT 10, 2014

18-SEP-2014, bottle @Gamlere.
Clear dark, dark Brown with lasting tan head.
Aroma is brown sugar, soap (but in a nice way), spice.
Taste the same with a slight roast, chocolate. Medium body, soft carbonation, a Little sweetnes. Fine. erickok (6037) - Leuven, BELGIUM - SEP 3, 2014
Black bodied and stable small tan head. Very toasty, roasty, chocolate brownie, some creamy undertone. Not very dry, but I actually like it, as it works well with the dark malts they’ve used. Herbal (Emglish) hops to only support, and doing that well. Soft sweet toasty start with a more pronounced bitter finish. Classic yet actually very well done. Certainly not imperial but with a very full mouthfeel for the abv. Really big surprise, as I expected a thin dull and poorly made stout but got a real (classic) craft treat! Bottle from Calis Vins. Pours mahogany with a tan coloured froth. Moderately sweet at first before a burnt cardboard finish. Light in body. Some coffee and chocolate notes too. OK and drinkable enough.

75 cl. Decanted to a jug. Poured with a nice, loose, rocky head that holds well. As expected, almost black. Nice aroma, malty with some hops and slightly smoky. Balanced taste, slightly sweet start with medium bitterness. Average carbonation, this washes nicely over the tongue with a slightly spicy taste. A long finish that is dry, leading one to another sip. A lifelong fan of stouts and porters, this does not disappoint. This is how a stout should be: dry-ish with a bitter, dry finish. A fine example of a dark, dry stout. mike_77 (6590) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - MAY 29, 2014
