UPDATED: DEC 28, 2013 Pours dark brown with a minimal tanned head. Aroma of caramel, fidges, alcohol, roasted malts and Finnish "mämmi". Flavor is fruity, hoppy and malty with distinct alcohol tones. Roundly lean and fullbodied on palate. Finishes shortlived with bitter aftertaste. cgarvieuk (25987) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 9, 2010
bottle at home ... thin lacing ... sweet toffee malts ... little vanilla nose ... soft body ... rich malts ... light vanilla ... soft toffee ... little pine hop ... juicy ... yngwie (17234) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - OCT 9, 2010
Bottle. A copper-colored beer, clear, and topped by a dense but small, off-white to beige head. Lovely nose, although it’s a bit buttery, but with enough bready scents to make me think of a freshly baked dark rye bread with real butter. Some dried fruits and a touch of fresh fruits, higher alcohols and sugary sweetness too. It’s full-bodied and warming, and with an appropriate carbonation level. The flavor has dried fruits, dark bread, buttery caramel notes, alcohol and a little bitterness, enough bitterness to bring some balance, even though it’d definitely on the sweet side. Long, warming, sweet and caramel tasting finish. I wouldn’t mind drinking more of this one, not at all. 101009 Geokkjer (7647) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - OCT 9, 2010

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2012 0,25 l bottle at Black & Brown, Stockholm 8.9.2010.
Short lived tanned film on murky deep orange body.
Sweet, alcohol, dried figs & dates on the nose.
Heavy sweet, alcoholic, flavors with figs clearly present throughout the drink.
Full body; dry; gentle carbonation. Rune (13508) - Tromsø, NORWAY - SEP 12, 2010
250ml bottle, trade with Omhper. Off-white to light brownish head containing lots of small dimples. Satisfying retention. Near clear, ruby-red body. Deep aroma of dried and dark fruits like apricot and plums. Figs, raisin, almond, dark malts and other goodies in a rich taste profile offset by a lingering bitter tail. Dangerously easy to drink (Tromsø, 11.09.2010). LoFi (1753) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 8, 2010
UPDATED: DEC 3, 2011 Draught, vintage 2008. Orange to reddish brown with a creamy off-white head. Aroma: port, raisins. Taste: honey, dried fruit, licorice, very malty, quite a high bitterness, and some alcohol. Full and creamy mouthfeel. A nice barley wine, and my favourite from Nynäshamn. UPDATED: DEC 24, 2011 Small head that settles very fast. Hazy amber appearance. Powerful sweet malty aroma with tonnes of raisins and other misc dried, also a whole bunch of honey and some mixed fruity notes. A little bit oily mouthfeel but not oily as I like my barley wines. Still a very enjoyable BW!
