COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Note: Unaged, nameless version pre-released in september 2007. Officially released as Bötet Barley Wine in september 2008.

Hopmaestro (1687) - Örebro, SWEDEN - DEC 15, 2015
Aroma is sweet malty caramels, red berries, figs and prunes. Taste is really sweet and alcohol drenched figs and dades but also with quite a fair amount of resin and a slight wet wood sensation. Aftertaste is sweet toffee with alcohol. I love this one, even if it’s maybe a tad too sweet.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours in a red mahogny color with a very thin line of white head that disappears super fast. Aroma; brown sugar, caramel, dried fruits, some malt, resin and notes of oak rum barrel in the background. Flavours; sweet caramel, brown sugar, dried fruits, resin, malt and you feel flavour of the oak barrel through out all of three taste palettes. Semi complex and a straight up very nice BW beer.

Mortlach (2435) - Rome, ITALY - NOV 23, 2015
On tap @EurHop (Rome). Pours amber with a medium and persistent off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, resin, oak. Flavour is medium to high sweet with a decent bitter end. High body, light carbonation. Ok.

SvanteL (590) - SWEDEN - NOV 18, 2015

This is a really good barley wine, will probably keep a few bottles for christmas evening. Malty with caramel and dried fruits in aroma, some hops but not much. Follows through in taste, lots of caramel, coffee, chocolate and browned sugar, even the fruit is there. The hops comes in second just as in the aroma.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2016 Pours copper colored liquid with a very thin off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel and some hops. Taste reflects the aroma, really nice barley wine. Good carbonation. It will taste even better in a few years!

Gerbeer (3845) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 5, 2015
UPDATED: NOV 6, 2015 250 ml bottle. 2012 vintage. Pours a dark red mahogany with light head. Big malty aromas, with brown sugar and caramel. Flavors are same, big, malty and smooth with still a bit of rough bitter hops. Nice.
